Hi
===
I'm new with the eMule Mods so please...

The only target for me is the usage of the HIDEOS feature in order to upload large (700MB) files in less time then the Official Emule.. Which Mods will do the work for me ??

Can I have both Official Emule and Mode Emule on my PC or should I remove the Official Emule ?? (all I need at this stage is to try the HIDEOS feature).

Thank You
Boaz

i suggest you do not rely on HideOS and use SOTN instead. the latter is far more intelligent when hiding the chunks. uploading every chunk once may not be of any use if the client that received the clients unshare the file immediately. SOTN will figure out which chunks to hide by looking what requesting clients already got.

No, there will not be a new version of my mods. No, I do not want your PM. No, I am certain, use the board and quit sending PMs. No, I am not kidding, there will not be a new version of my mods just because of YOU asking for it!

@BoazBoaz,
You can check MorphXT, StulleMule, ScarAngel, Mephisto etc.
Read this two topic please ;
http://wiki.emule-we.../Hide_Overshare
http://wiki.emule-we...e_Only_the_Need

All you need to activate these options is a right click to your file at Shared files window, then you will see. . .

Sotn is cleverer and will fit your needs. About hideOS, i am using it time to time because some of my new releases have real low requests, and most of sources are going offline after a while. See, it depends but we generally suggest Sotn. Both of these features would be useless if official client have had ICS system. ; click

Oh, i thought that ICS is part of vanilla emule. Good to know, so SOTN isn't useless!

It will be interesting to learn if you get any measurable improvement in how much you need to upload before there are other complete sources.
Currently recommending and using: eMule beba 2.63
For slot control only, currently recommending: Tombstone Xtended 1.0 (or higher) if you absolutely must have slot control

actually that's not even important. as long as new virtual complete sources are created.

Virtual or actual, as long as the same rules apply to measuring how long it takes with and without SOTN, etc. Problem is, virtual will include clients who have yet to get a preview chunk and may cancel the moment they do, thus destroying the virtually complete source. There needs to be redundancy. With actual, you know one client wanted and got the whole file. Until that happens, there's no way to verify that the virtual sources are sharing/working. HTH :flowers:

The results are really interesting.
I guess with SotN it *could* take less upload to create the first virtual / complete sources. And btw:

You want a light mod with source-dropping, Powershare and WiZaRd's ClientAnalyzer ?
Try Spike2-Mod !

You rather want to stick to official eMule but don't want to miss all the new fixes and optimizations from the mods ?
Try OfFixed-Mod !

you did not get what virtual complete sources are, did you, james? because nobody cares about preview chunks when we count virtual complete sources. we just figure out if all chunks are available at at least one of the (remote) clients and then figure out the least spread chunk. the number of clients holding this chunk will define the virtual complete source count. the first step is obviously redundant in this explanation as the least available chunk could also be 0 which would mean just the same. it does, however, help understanding what is done.

Thanks for your concern Stulle. Your explanation only confirms that my understanding, or "get" level, of virtual was accurate. Unless you're trying to say that a virtual complete source as it's actually programmed means that each chunk has at least 2 available sources or only sources that also have the preview chunk are counted.

"means that each chunk has at least 2 available sources or only sources that also have the preview chunk are counted."
i just said it, the virtual complete sources counts the frequency a part is available from requesting clients. if we got the file completed our own we will obviously add 1. i did also say that this has got NULL to do with preview chunks or whatever. there is no destroying of virtual sources. there is no difference between users canceling a download and clients unsharing completed files. this is why it's fairly pointless to consider the job done when we uploaded each chunk once or anything like that for the matter.

Now that I'm aware of these options I've started a new topic:

"HideOS,SON,Selective Chunk Sharing,PowerShare..."
Under "Official eMule-Board> Development> eMule Mods> Morph MOD"

Please take a look Here.

BoazBoaz, stick to the results. It is best to stay in the main Mods forum where other mod providers and users can provide input. Forget goals and objectives. Experiment, record the results, and report back. If any of them were certain, a clear, unambiguous answer would have been provided already. Instead, you have a pile of muck.
