Sometimes when stopping a download and there are A4AF sources, the A4AF sources
still remain after download is stopped.

and how long has the file been stopped?

5 seconds? :P

the A4AF sources will only move in the next re-ask, could take up to 30 minutes

You didn't stop the file? You paused it?

 It says 'Stopped' from where I am sitting.
Anyhoo, this is telling you you cannot currently download this file from this source. Why would you expect anything to change when you stop it?

If you observed On Queue* in a stopped file and the related A4AF's remained in a running file after 30mins then I guess that would be a problem!

If I remember correctly:

When you stop a file it immediately drops all its sources.

When you pause a file, it retains the sources until they timeout.

It's not until the source is dropped, times out, or is about to be reasked, that the switch will occur.

The same goes for when you change download priority. The source will not switch file until it's about to be reasked.

Thanks for the info. Most was as I thought, but great to have it confirmed!

I was wrong to assume the original poster was expecting them to move. I now understand the observation. It does seem like a minor bug.

So, since that image shows the file is 'Stopped' then surely it should have immediately dropped those A4AF sources as you suggest, even though it doesn't actually make any difference?

I didn't notice that it said "stopped". I don't know how the pausing of files is handled, since I never use it myself.

But I think pausing it is the only way to retain the sources on the file (for a while).

Anyone, if you pause a file, does it go to "stopped" after a while, even though it still has sources? I had thought it would go to "stopped" when it lost its last source, but I haven't checked the code for stopped/paused for a LONG while.

Edit: I think what happens is that the a4af sources never time out, since they are pinged by the other file they are hanging on.

Just tested:

Yes.

File with 72 sources including two A4AF. Set file to 'paused'. After a while (seemed longer than 30mins but maybe not!) File jumped to 'stopped' state with no sources, including the two A4AF. So I guess I have disproved the 'bug' and original postee did not wait long enough :P

/Edit: and to be absolutely sure I tried directly Stopping a running file that had three A4AF sources and nothing else. All were immediately dropped.
