This subforum shall give you some status information and discussion platform about specific languages (improvements,...).

If you post in english, we developer can use posted information (corrections) too. But this is not a liability.
Chances just grow, that issues can be resolved more quickly.

The translators will be pointed to this subforum, to make them aware to check this place too.

Feel free to discuss here anything, that dont fit into the other topics. Every eMule language has its own topic, so please go there for language specific posts. Thx

Hi all,

We are on the point to release the Breton translation of eMule, see this web page,
here
and we have a couple of issues to address and hope that someone could help us:

1. We can not rebuild eMule because we don't have MSVC++ 7.0, and we would like to add our language to the language list. Could someone help us in rebuilding a eMule image with « Breton (Brezhoneg) » associated with br-FR.dll ? (PS: The Breton language has no LCID, but we hope that it won't be an issue here).

2. Some buttons of the main options dialog box can not be localized, I mean the Cancel/OK/Apply/Help buttons. They are shown in the Windows system language, not in the localized language. It would not be very difficult to handle the localization of these buttons, could someone also fix this ?

Thanks to all for your help in advance,
Solenn

Greetings!

concerning 1:
It requires some additions in I18n.cpp & PPgGeneral.cpp.
No LCID is a bit ichy, but should be no problem to work around.

concerning 2:
There is currently no mechanism, to translate the system set labels.

I started the integration of Breton - but I would need you .rc file for completion and testing.
You webpage didnt offered any download. I would appreciate if you could send it to ornis@emule-project.net

Thanks
Ornis

Hi,

does anyone know which compiler is used by Emule?

Is it possible to localize the .rc file in Unicode? (There are some languages in Windows that have official support and LCID, but are only supported in Unicode).

Which version of VC++ do you use and what are the parameters?

Thanks

Hello, this issue is about the valencian translation.
I dont know how e-mule project allows a language who does not exist.
This can be proved by consulting the international ISO-639 language code database, there is no code for valencian, but if we try to find "valencian" on the database, we could see that is an alternative name for the catalan (CAT code); How sounds if e-mule held separated translations for english an american? really silly...
So, I suggest the translation team to remove the separated valencian traslation, and add its name beside the catalan, (català-valencià), to properly match with the reality and the international language coding.

Greetings

In eMule (all languages) there is a tiny "bug" on several occurences, e.g.:

IDS_FO_PREFBUTTON_NEW "Open ports on WinXP SP1 firewall"

This doesn't always match the OS/SP status and shouldn't be XP specific - should most likely be "Open ports on internal Windows firewall"

Its only supposed to work on XP SP1 (and therefore deprecated), i dont think you will actually see this button on another OS.

Isn't that kinda weird as the internal firewall is of course also present on any XP version after SP1 and also Windows2003 and Vista?

No because the firewall system changed after XP SP1, and the firewall in XP SP2+ basically doesn't needs any attention from eMule - it will ask the user itself if he wants to unblock eMule or not, thats just the proper way.

As it's not a big deal, it would be nice to translate the missing strings within the "normal" GUI...

Like:
void CemuleDlg::OnClose()
(...)
Log(_T("Closing eMule"));

Those are messages that you will only see while debugging and maybe in the logs (if used)... I doubt it's worth adding string for that

I got it in the "normal" log while exiting a non-debug eMule..

Weird.
