Emule Tells Me I Have A Low-id! What is it and what do I do?

Always remember that it is common for ISPs to throttle default ports for known p2p programs - so at least try some different numbers - or better, try a different ISP......

Stopping and starting the mule makes no difference , changing servers also no difference. Only a reboot fixes it. As an aside , Edonkey also tells me I am firewalled after this forced disconnect.
This would point to either both the mule and the donkey picking up false information from windoze ... or windoze is changing something after the forced disconnect.
Any ideas ??
I haven't tried leaving it to see if it sorts itself out after a period of time.

You can visit this site -> ProxyJudge to identify whether or not your ISP is using a proxy. Once there click on any of the recommended or other ProxyJudge links.
Check the info in the lower half of the new screen that pops up.
Result: Not using a Proxy:
- REMOTE_HOST
Result
Comment- Maybe no problem.
Result: Using a proxy:
- REMOTE_HOST
Result- Via a Proxy
- REMOTE_HOST includes proxy server word "cache-xxx.proxy.xxx.com".
Hopefully this`ll help solve some of the mystery in determining whether or not some have a LowID b/cos they`re behind a Proxy.
P.S If anyone with more experience in this area feels this isn`t helpful or misleading in some way, say so and maybe birk can edit or remove this post.
hmm this is what i get
* REMOTE_HOST
Result
?
Comment
REMOTE_HOST includes only one number, it's dubious.
* HTTP Env. Value
Result
Via a Proxy
Comment
Dubious valuable is detected.
* AnonyLevel : 3
So-so.
what does this mean, am i good or is my isp using a proxy

Reconnect to another server and see if it changes and enable smart low id check on connect.
Since 2 days, I've got the same problem.
Didn't change anything.
Restart my PC's and ADSL-router
Test is ok, but got low-id on 1 PC other is high-id
Try the 1 pc alone, but still low
Is not really a problem as up and down speed are still optimal
Edit : DonkeyServer N°2 give me now a high-id,
Razorback 2.2 a low-id ????

I have read all the souloutions and taken into hand...
Ive portforwardded both udp and tcp ports for negear RP614v2
Turned off firewalls, including xp.. which wasnt on..
The only reason i can thing off is that i have only 50mb of space in c: drive left and running out of space and another 50gig on the other stupid hey..!!!!!
Could that be the prob why i have low id...
By the way.. when i do the test ip thingy it doesnt pick up my tcp.... which is weird even though i have port forwerded and i can connect to server.. please help
Thanks

When you do pls provide more information about the type of internet connection and modem. Your lack of space will not be an issue with High-Id.

Hmmm, now look here! You say you have tried "everything" but really.... a lot of people say that expression - but try making a checklist, like here:
Be patient and go through methodically
- Do you, or do you not, have to go through a firewall at some point to access the internet? (remember if on XP that this has a firewall built in).
If YES then remember that you have to check the TCP and UDP port numbers set in Emule connection settings - and 'ALLOW/Unblock' these ports in your firewall program/s (remember you might even be running more than one firewall .... )
- Do you, or do you not, have to go through a ROUTER or some kind of switch - are you on a Network, or shared connection through another computer (you have a 'Gateway computer' to connect through?
This is BAD for speed usually - as in you get more 'latency' which translates to TIMEOUTS often as well, and going through another computers connection is in its' self like being behind a router. I recommend if you have to stay behind a network or router to at least use as short as safely possible cables that are high-quality and well shielded etc and disable unneeded network services. Forward the EMule port numbers as instructed.
And why not use the Gateway computer for Emule? if you can, rather than going through another PC.
- Have you checked for all programs using the Internet connection?
Don't have unnecassary crap using your connection - especially when running Emule. This includes Messenger programs, streaming radio, other P2P programs...
- Checked for Spyware/Adware/viruses?
Some is a minor problem, some are major...... . Hopefully your PCs broadband connection is not actually being used as a Zombie Spammer sending out floods of email But really, do check....
- Last but not least,, have you made sure you have latest Emule installed with default settings!!!
well than I think my router is whats screwing me up because I keep getting bounced from 1 server to the next and messages that my tcp port can't be read, that my id is low, and that i should review my network config or settings. I went through the port forwarding steps. Were I to disconnect my pc from my router and than to my modem directly, would I have to make changes in my connection settings? If so, which ones?

If you still get Low-Id check software firewalls. If you get High-Id then you missed something when setting up port forwarding. Pay close attention to your machines IP Address that you are forwarding to (run IPCONFIG at command prompt).
Pls start new thread for anything more.

Connect to one of the Donkeyservers. If you get High-Id (servers/my info) then all is ok. Otherwise check to see if you have a router.
Any further questions pls start a new thread in support.

Suddenly yesterday when i connected to donkeyserver nr4 on of the arrows went green and then turned to yellow...
was that a half high ID
i have another forum already and its name is " Low Id "
nothing helps...i guess....
in google i searched: port check, and then i found a port check place
http://www.canyouseeme.org/ <---the place....
in the most common ports list i checked all them and there were some ports open ( 21,22,23,and 80)

I've tiscali router, but I also trying to use a linksys access point(wirless-g). I'm really getting in trouble because I don't have any issue with internet connection, but I've low id with e-mule.
Could someone help me in understanding where I have to do the port forwarding(I image on tiscali router) and how I can set up linksys in order to get the high id?
Another question: do i have to use the port trigger on tiscali router?

If you can portforward (/nat, virtual server), it preferred over a port trigger.
You will have to setup the linksys as a "access point" instead of a router iself.
The alternative is that you leave the linksys in router mode and forward ports form the tiscaly thing to the linksys and form the linksys to the pc. http://portforward.c...tforwarding.htm
