Emule Downloads Fle For Seconds At Great Speed, Then Stops Abruptly

Shortly after connecting, it downloads for a mere 5 seconds at a good speed (3mb/s), just to go into waiting status again.

I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how to get around this issue.

Any error messages in your server log or verbose messages relating to the download?
Do you have enough disk space?
Have you checked your drive for errors?
Have you updated your IP filter lately? It may be a malicious source wasting your bandwidth.
