Windows crashed when I was running eMule, and when I restarted it, I had a blank file in my downloading file list.

Right clicking on the blank entry and selecting Cancel File resulted in a dialog popping up saying "eMule encountered an invalid argument"

The same dialog would pop up intermittently while running eMule.

Sometimes the entire download list would go blank.

How I solved it: All I needed was a text editor such as Notepad.

0) Hovering over the blank entry displays which 3 digit number nnn that the partnnn.met file this blank file corresponded to. Note this number nnn
1) Shut down eMule
2) Find and navigate to eMule's config directory.

In my case it was: C:\ProgramData\eMule\config

3) Open downloads.txt in a text editor
3a) Delete the line that starts with nnn.part, and save the file.
4) Delete downloads.bak from the config directory
5) Find and navigate to eMule's temp directory.

This should be near your eMule's Incoming directory.
In my case it was: D:\Users\Public\Downloads\eMule\Temp

6) Delete all files in Temp whose names begin with "nnn.part" There should be 3 of them: nnn.part, nnn.part.met, nnn.part.bak
7) Restart emule, and the blank file problem went away.

I'm not sure whether there were any steps that were unnecessary, but that's what worked for me.

Salve! Ho un problema, da quando pochi giorni fa c'è stato un aggiornamento di Windows, eMule non mi funziona più. La lista dei server si offusca, prova a connettersi ma li identifica tutti come inattivi ed inoltre la connessione cade continuamente.

Greetings! I have a problem, since there was a Windows update a few days ago, eMule no longer works for me. The list of servers becomes blurred, it tries to connect but identifies them all as inactive and also the connection continually drops.
