Gentlemen, seems I have encountered what seems to be a sophisticated virus targeting my Emule. Is this a know issue? Is there a fix? Symptoms are suddenly Emule 50a re-starts on it's own, and will not connect when it does so. It shows all of the Servers as dead, and just goes through a constant cycle of trying to connect. Things I've tried include, installing Total AV and scanning my system. While it did find a virus, that I quarantined, it had no effect on fixing my Emule. I've tried uninstalling it, and re-installing it, which also doesn't fix the problem. So the virus seems to be present even after removing and re-installing Emule. And doesn't seem detectable by Anti-virus software. So I'm at my wits end. Hopefully someone has encountered this, and knows of a way of fixing it. I'm all ears. I'm running Win 7 64-bit and Emule 50a.

Rob,
Um, 'Gentlemen' assumes there are no interested ladies that may wish to assist you. Not a gender bias, but possibly an oversight. 'Howdy folks' is my way of keeping everybody universally offended!
Back to your issues:
Do a disk check for errors and remedy any found. Bad sectors can cause your symptoms.
Update all your software to latest.Use a boot disk from your anti-virus vendor to scan for viruses, as any infection may be intercepting and bypassing your current tools. If you boot from another OS, the virus usually cannot intercept that and will most likely be detected and cleaned.
I have not heard of any viruses that are specific to eMule - the target audience is far too small.
Check your system error log in administration tools.

Check that you do not have any defects in your mouse, or if using a laptop, there is nothing sitting near the touch pad area - this has been known to cause mysterious things to happen.
You will probably find the issue is not a virus at all, but system corruption of some kind.

Was emule working before? Or is this a new installation?

I'm trying to find out whether you need to go through the steps to configure your networking, i.e. firewall, router etc., your emule startup server download, or whether this is something else.

Frustrating when there is no feedback that whatever strategy you suggest worked or didn't work. Not much use to others that may be having the same issue in the future and stumble on this unresolved thread.
