Hi, here's how to reproduce:

  • Set the basic incoming folder to c:\Emule Incoming
  • Create a new category Test, set the incoming folder for the category to c:\Emule Incoming\Test and press Ok
  • The category and subfolder is now created
  • Delete the subfolder
  • Download something small to make quick
  • The file is placed in the basic incoming folder

I think that the correct behaviour need to recreate the folder on the fly when the file is downloaded...

This is not a bug.
eMule uses the rule:
If a category path does not exist, then files go into the default incoming directory.

When making categories, folders should be created manually or already existed. Hence automatic recreation should be avoided.

Sorry, I can't edit my previous reply.
I understand this rule of Emule, but with a 2022 developer mentality usually more user oriented, why can't this adapted?
Like trying to create the folder on the fly when moving from temp and if there're missing permission of some errors fallback to the default incoming?
thx

sorry , i did exactly as you suggested but the files being downloaded are placed in the incoming folder.
I have been using emule in conjunction with categories for many years without problems and I understand how to create and edit categories.
Unfortunately with version 0.60 I can't do this.

Thank You.
Luca.

Guys, this works:

  • Create a new category Test.
  • Set the incoming folder for the category to (what you prefer)\Test.
  • The category is created.
  • The test subfolder is created.
  • Delete the test subfolder.
  • Close emule.
  • Re-open emule.
  • The test subfolder is re-created.

The other way doesn't work, but I do not call it a bug (at least, this is not a bug in emule :)).
Why should an user delete the just created category folder?
