Good afternoon. I'm having trouble forwarding ports. I live in Brazil, so I have a brazilian router, and that means that none of the english port forwarding tutorials say anything about it, and there are zero tutorials in portuguese...I tried many times to forward ports, but they always are closed when I check them. Please, I need help. Sadly I can't seem to upload files here, and it won't let me upload links, so I'm gonna portray how the router's port forwarding page looks like.

Local
Endereço de IP:
_______________
|192|.|168|.|0|.|0|
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾

Porta inicial:
_________
________

Porta final:
_________
________

Translation
Local: Probably is referring to 'internal'
Endereço de IP: IP address...I can't change the 192.168.0 value, only that last 0 at the end. Should I put my computer's IP address (IPv4), 192.168.0.8? Or the default gateway one, 192.168.0.1? I tried using my computer's IP address, but it didn't work.
Porta inicial: Start port.
Porta final: End port...can't type in.

Externo
Porta inicial:
_________
________

Porta final:
_________
________

Descrição:
_______________
______________

Protocolo: TCP / UDP / TCP&UDP

Externo: External
Porta final: Can type in.
Descrição: Description
Protocolo: Protocol...I can choose between TCP, UDP or both.

Okay so, I type in my computer's IP address, then get the TCP port 26072 that eMule chose for me and then type in the "Porta inicial" part at Local, and then I type the same value in the "Porta inicial" and "Porta final" parts at Externo. Then the "Porta final" part in which I can't type in at Local gets typed automatically with the same port value. I name it eMule_TCP in "Descrição" and then I save it. I create the UDP port 36669 doing the same steps. Then I leave both ports enabled. Then I click "Test Ports" in the program and then the test fails. It tested my router's IP address, 191.189.2.209.

TCP connection test failed.
It was not possible, to establish a TCP connection to your eMule.
Other users will only be able to connect to you with the help of a server, resulting in a low ID for you. While eMule still works, this will give you several disadvantages. Therfore it is highly recommended to solve this problem.

I described all that I did, step by step, and all that happened. I have my firewall disabled btw.

Did I do something wrong? I wanna know what can I do to correct this. Any help is appreciated.

If you use a VPN you would not need to worry about port forwarding on your router, you will also be protecting from prying eyes

Ones I would recommend are PrivateVPN or AirVPN which you can find using Google

Port forwarding should redirect external traffic to the IP of eMule's computer. To apply the rules the router might require reboot or power cycling.

UPnP might be the easiest way to forward ports. No rules needed; only make sure UPnP is enabled in the router and tick the checkbox in Options; log pane will tell if forwarding was successful.

I have UPnP enabled in my router's advanced options, and I disabled WAN blocking, then did power cycling on my router. Then I tried to setup ports with UPnP but it still fails...this is what the advanced options screen shows

WAN blocking (disabled)
IPSEC pass through (enabled)
PPTP pass through (enabled)
Remote config management (enabled)
Multicast (enabled)
UPnP (enabled)

Do I have to tweak something else?

What is in the log pane, was forwarding successful or not?

No, it gives me this message in purple.

UPnP failed to setup port forwardings, please foward those ports manually if necessary!

If UPnP could not help, then manual forwrding should be tried again - and hope that your connection (ISP) does not block ports.
There is portforward.com site, it has decent guides for a few router models. Also it has articles that explain the basics of port forwarding (use guides, do not buy any magic applications there).

I've tried manual forwarding again, but still no positive results...I seriously don't know what's wrong. Even though there aren't really guides specifically for my router, I do know how to do the basic...yet nothing works. When I go to those port checker websites, every single port I put in doesn't work. Some sites say "connection timed out", others say "port closed on external IP". I've power cycle'd my router many times. My firewall being enabled or disabled doesn't seem to affect anything, neither creating rules on it. What if my ISP blocks all ports? Can I unblock/bypass??
Didn't know port forwarding could give me so much headache :cry2:...I still don't feel like giving up though.

My ISP was blocking all ports, I had to get a gaming plan to be able to forward ports.
Try using a VPN and if that works it's your ISP.

In case of optic fiber connection, there are chances to have blocked ports and no forwarding would help.

If it is possible to connect directly to the ISP cable and eliminate the router, then you will know for sure if the issue is in the router or it is the provider (you will need to copy network setting from the router to the computer, and then to be able to restore the settings back).

Connect to the ISP cable and eliminate the router? What do you mean? Do you mean like, doing an ethernet connection?

The computer connects directly to internet, and it should get the external address of the router.

Hi there, I just found out that my router is actually a Sagemcom F@ST3895...the brazilian brand Claro is actually just a publisher. Still, I couldn't find any specific tutorials for it. Also, I'm afraid I can't connect directly to my ISP cable.
I've recently bought a LAN cable and adapter to use with my laptop. Also, I have a(n actually good) VPN freeware, which I use it sometimes to watch region-restricted youtube videos. VPNs seemingly let you port forward peacefully. Is it the same process? Like, after I connect to the VPN, do I just do the same steps for port forwarding and see if it works?

I said this 17 days ago and you would have saved money on the LAN cable and adapter, as well as all the downtime

Fire up the VPN and leave it on when you are using eMule, using the ports numbers you have already and it will connect seamlessly - only thing to recheck is your firewall to see if eMule has permission to pass through.

This one should be a modem-router combo. Hence you do not have the same input RJ-45 jack to connect directly to the computer port.
For VPN, port forwarding in a router is not used.
If only certain ports are open in VPN, then you'll have to use those in eMule.
