Hello,

I've been working on getting an Artificial intelligence onto my site to do among other things, inform visitors how to make use of ED2K links and how to use Emule in particular. I've got a pretty good system setup now with an ALICE bot talking to MYSQL and scripts to convert natural language into AIML (the language ALICEs brain uses) so it's really just a matter of feeding the bot now to make it more helpful.

So I'm just asking if anyone would be willing to help with filling in Alices brain so to speak. When that particular part of ALICE is complete I'll release the AIML file to the community so anyone wishing to put an AI on their site to explain how to use a file sharing program like Emule, can do that. I could also drum up some basic instructions on how to go about getting the whole package working, bot, brain, mysql and such. The bot I'm using is a little different from the ordinary Alice, its written in PHP so works really well online.

To help out all you need to do is format questions and answers in a natural way and I have a script that will convert that into AIML (artificial intelligence markup language) I could post links here to ALICE and stuff if anyone was interested but I'm not sure what the policy of the board is about url's so I'll play it safe and not post any links.

An example of a reply to this post that would be help would go along the lines of

I HAVE LOW ID

A low ID isn't good, ideally you want a High ID.

WHY DO I HAVE LOW ID

A low ID means the port Emule wants to use is blocked or cannot be reached. This can be caused by firewalls, routers or proxy servers.

WHAT DOES HIGH ID MEAN

A high ID means the port chosen in Preferences -> Connections (default 4662) is open and freely accessible.

Ok I think you'd get the picture from that. It's easy to see how many questions there can be just about one small aspect of Emule alone so the task of getting an AI that can actually be helpful about all aspects of ED2K and Emule is pretty big, which is why I'm asking for help.

As long as the question is in caps (this is necessary for AIML and doesnt mean a visitor has to type questions in caps, its just stored this way in ALICES brain), and the response is spaced one line after the question as in the above example, its easy to convert that to AIML. Punctuation in the question is not necessary, its stripped out anyway, but punctuation in the reply is quite welcome.

I'll post a link to the raw bot page that isn't part of my site (not trying to spam anything here) itll just be a pure bot form page with nothing else so people can test how intelligent the bot is becoming at responding to p2p/ed2k/emule help questions. I'll do that if theres any response to this.

thanks
