I am waiting like 2 weeks to download a file from a user which is the only uploader who has it, it is very very slow, so I contacted him and he said he would give me high priority and instead it got slower, ridiculously slow. I checked all his shared files and put some other ones to download and they went very very fast...

How is this possible? Very fast ones and very slow ones from the same user and same computer. I am the only one downloading that file he said.

A friend slot should be better here than high priority.

Thanks. I also noticed that the other files had other uploaders and his slot was stop. So I was probably wrong.

If that user is using aMule, it's due to aMule bug: default upload rate = 0 throttles upload rate.

It turns out that default upload rate 0, which logically should disable rate throttling, in fact sets upload rate limit to 5 kB/s and slowly increase it upon uploading based on statistical average upload speed. This is very confusing and limiting.
