Hello all,
I am using eMule for almost 2 decades now and just(yesterday) started to use sonarr and radarr (in a simple way-> automatic search and download the missing/newest episodes/movies you index.
Seems it only accepts Usenet and Torrents. With torrents seems it uses the app webinterface to receive the file requests and once done it moves the file to the proper place of your choosing(in my case, to my plex folder).
It is an amazing tool and it really works!
But I am not a fan of torrents. I like eMule, cause it is easy to share all my library.
Then comes the question: is eMule compatible from an eMule stand point?
If not, is that a valid project for the community start?
If yes, what is missing and how to start it? (or perhaps configure :) )
My main goal is to make sonarr/radarr work with eMule.

Thanks once again for the great work

Hey there, posting here because I found your question on google and I was wondering the same without being able to find an answer, therefore I tried to take it on myself,
This is Amarr: https://github.com/vexdev/amarr it's a torrent emulator for aMule which allows it to work with radarr/sonarr. I'm looking for beta testers if you're interested! It's not eMule, but it should be close to your request.

Fragmentation of peer-to-peer protocols. This has been going on for decades.

eMule supports two protocols: eDonkey and KAD. It doesn't support the BitTorrent protocol.

As history has shown, no outright winner has emerged, so they must each have their own particular strengths and weaknesses.

Note: aMule and eMule are two different software products. You may be better taking your product endorsement over to their forums.

Seems to be a good start with that integration VexDev.
I don't know if you know it, but for example Synology Download Station has an API to communicate with the download client of this software, perhaps it could be a good integration too.

And there is a docker version os Synology OS (DSM) in which Download Station could be running.

Hey folks,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm currently exploring ways to enhance my Synology NAS, especially in terms of peer-to-peer file sharing. Recently, I discovered Amarr, a promising project that acts as a torrent emulator for aMule, offering compatibility with radarr/sonarr and similar tools.

I'm excited about the possibilities Amarr brings, but I could really use some help getting started. Specifically, I'm looking for a tutorial or step-by-step guide to install and configure Amarr on my Synology NAS using Docker.

If anyone has experience with this setup or knows of any helpful resources, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Whether it's a detailed tutorial, a useful guide, or just some tips and tricks you've picked up along the way, any help would be fantastic.

Thanks a bunch for your support. I'm eager to dive into this project and make the most out of my Synology NAS!

Best regards,

I state that I have recently started using Docker.
I'm using amarr with Docker Desktop and I have amule physically installed on the computer with MS Windows; I also disabled the firewall to see if it was a port problem.
On the browser I see amule web without problems (so in web server of amule it works).
I searched online for a solution to this problem but couldn't find it.

I guess I made a mistake in setting the host, but I'm not sure: I tried both localhost, and 127.0.0.1 which I always get:
" Exception in thread "main" java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused"

I also tried with the name of the computer, and I get a similar error:
Exception in thread "main" java.net.UnknownHostException: box (box is the name of the computer)

Where am I wrong? Has it happened to anyone? How did you solve it?
(I hope I didn't get the wrong thread)
Thank you

Looks like a wrong site.
This is eMule forum; amule should be discussed at amule.org.

I'm sorry.
This is the only place where I found any trace of amarr (on the amule site there is no trace of it), besides GitHub.
I'll try to search again.

No problem if someone could help you right here, but usually amule and torrents are not discussed here.
This forum is for eMule running in Windows OS.
