Discover Fake Files Using Webservices And Preview
none of those links work. Couldn't be added some new website or way to report and detect fakes based on checksum? There is no one-shot solution currently which works as intended.

The page you mention has not been updated since 2005. Reading files' names is enough for me to detect fake files.

Come on, it's not enough most of the times. Some wikipedia-type website should exist.

Nobody promised that your particular file would be found in such site's database.
And trustworthiness of the data would be questionable.

I agree, some database with unique hashsums would be neat.
However for some files it's easy enough to generate fake's which cannot be determined by a hash -
video's can be easily re-encoded and altered while still being fake.
(As well as images and also a couple of other files)
So what you would need is a form of heuristic.

Interesting stuff to read. Keep it up.
