im so happy i found emule. way back before Facebook, google translate, you tube, torrent web pages. there was a emule style program. it was the only way i could communicate and share with people in japan and Taiwan. thank you to everyone who made and kept emule alive. its bin so many decades.. i cant even remember what that program was called.

so im trying to limit uploads to only 10 at a time to keep speeds high. i could never get it to work, for 2 weeks now. the speeds are at 40kb/s at the highest with 30 uploads. today though.. after giving up and hitting default about 2 days ago. it was only uploading 7 at a time with speeds of 300kb/s to 600. why know? all of a sudden? this really confuses me. but as im checking every so often and i see that as files are completed.. no new uploads are starting, 2 days later theirs only one more upload. no new ones. KAD is still connect and working, server.. tvunderground still connected no errors. high ID.

i just want to know why. at times it just seems so random. how do i keep it as just 10 uploads at a time? i want to give these people good speeds. 40kb/s is.. reminds me of 1992.. lol. AOL dial up anyone?

Universal rule: Unless your ISP is doing packet inspection and speed limiting eMule traffic, the fastest your file sharing speed between two parties is limited by the slowest part of the connection between the two parties.

You may have a high speed link to your ISP, but the user on the other end may only have dialup, or have speed limiting by their ISP.

Other factors such as network load, undersea cable disconnections, malware, and things beyond your control also can have significant limits on the sharing speeds.

Patience and lots of uptime seems to be a fairly useful approach to file sharing with eMule!
