Peerguardian Ip Blocks?

I used to use PeerGuardian 2 back in the day. I dont think I no longer need it or if its effective or worth it. I dont know it if slow downs speeds or hurt your download chances. I use ipfilters but I noticed it completely wipes out the search chances. I had about 300 servers and with its wipes its down to like 20 or 10. I unchecked servers too but it wipes them out anyway. Anyway, I used to use this interesting little program back in the day but dont know if I should anymore or which one to use if I should because I read that its obsolete and I should another fresher program or one at all?

About ipfilters, try this: http://upd.emule-sec...rg/ipfilter.zip
It could delete some servers in the previous list (if you tick "filter servers too") or they could give you low id (if you don't tick "filter servers too").
To avoid this, you can edit the ipfilter list.

I already had that Filter list. I think thats my main one. lol.

But thats the thing I dont get. Too much confusion. When I was a heavy user without knowing I filtered the servers too. But then I noticed that it wiped out servers and I got less valid searches because of it. Since I like to look for a lot of obscure files I needed them so I wiped took off the filter for the servers. I of course would only sign to the best servers. I thought obfuscation would do that but I wasnt sure. Now that I dont have port fordwarding it might be making my connection even worst. Should I take it off?

Just edit the ipfilter to allow the servers in your list, if they are blocked by it.
Anyway, given that the ipfilter isn't updated since years (I think it's still based on the old level 1 list, level 2 list, and so forth), you could even delete it.
If it calms down a little your "paranoid mood", keep it...

I cant edit it because I feel if I did I would be being against the ones who created the filters who know more about it then me. If its blocked its for a reason and if I unfilter then I feel that I'll be opening myself up.

I dont think so. I think it is updated because so many current servers are filtered.

I have servers too unchecked and it eventually filters them out also.
