That's great!!! Many thanks fox88 for your dev work!

I've just upgrade to 0.51A my 24/7 linux wine emule station.

Please let we know if we need to test something specific.

Magnet links deemed to be a good idea. Unfortunately, after many years there are odd "enhancements", but no real standard.
Still these links might be somewhat useful for eMulers for input; no creation of magnet links is planned.

How to use.
Where ED2K links were accepted, it is possible to try a magnet link - to paste or to drag & drop.
Or even the registry could be tweaked for automatic handling, similar to ED2K links processing. Registry tweak for ED2K should be somewhere in the Docs, and it could be used as a template, no automation for this was planned.

If the link is malformed, there should be an error message in the logs.

Thanks.
Stable upload and download in the first place; maybe slightly less processor usage.
Next, you could pay attention to any of the rest of the things in the list of changes.

fox88

yes in this picture, do not let me change speed later.

I was uploading a few hours to 2000kbs and then I tried for another speed, I selected to apply and it did not work.

sonoro, it works for me.

Were you changing
Capacities, Upload
or
Limits, Upload limit?

How can I reproduce your problem?

I put the capacity "upload" 2000kbs, then I try to reduce it to 500kbs he does not let me apply and give ok.

Better check if anyone else has this problem.

It would be interesting to add:Maella chunk choosing method

I really like this method more

I tried that, and it worked.

Can you reproduce the error?
Even better if you could reproduce with a clean installation.

If anybody got the problem, it should be reported here.

Edit.
The program would not apply limits if the entered value is 65535 or above

Edit 2.

Official code uses Maella's work since 2003.

There is a good list of smIRC issues, written by Zangune.

Those who use IRC, including the author of the list, might give it a check.

The 0.51A version works very well....running for weeks 24/7 and I didn't find a single bug.

I have a question about development (not really a feature request, just a clarification): now in 2018, is it safe to run emule 24/7 with a SSD?
In the past there were a lot of warnings regarding the P2P programs that could short the SSDs life.

Are there still valid or the better technology of the new SSDs minimizes the risks so much that in real life we can use emule with SSD without stress?
A bigger File Buffer size (10 MB or more) and other dev optimizations could make emule more SSD friendly?

I already use a SSD for the SO+programs and an HD for Temp and downloads folders but the interesting prices of the new SSDs are encouraging me to upgrade (I have a laptop and I removed the optical unit in order to install the HDD, if I buy a bigger SSD I would reinstall the optical unit...).

Thanks for the report.

There is no special SSD-friendliness in eMule.
File buffers might save something for data file writes, but not for configuration files. Also, the buffers are flushed regularly on timer.

As you already have an SSD drive, an experiment is possible: move config directory to SSD and monitor for a while the amount of written data. For that, use software from the disk manufacturer (for example, SSD Dashboard in case of SanDisk drive), or look at SSD SMART parameters.
If it goes well enough, try the rest (Temp and Incoming directories).

Probably things improved recently, but a while ago 3 years lifespan for an SSD was promised if approximately half a disk size was written per day.

Strange issue here.
If i added some files by webserver the browser page crash/frozen and i'm suddly logged out from emule.
When i reconnect see in the emule log these strings:

Quote

21/05/2018 15:08:14: Downloading - 04-01 - .mkv
21/05/2018 15:08:14: Downloading - 04-02 - .mkv
21/05/2018 15:08:14: Downloading - 04-03 - .mkv

21/05/2018 15:08:18: You are already trying to download the file - 04-01 - .mkv
21/05/2018 15:08:18: You are already trying to download the file - 04-02 - .mkv
21/05/2018 15:08:18: You are already trying to download the file - 04-03 - .mkv

it seems as emule tries to add them again!

SS1900, thanks for the report.
I found a regression, which should be fixed in the next build.

0.51.0.7 version constantly crashes after several hours. Verbose log has no any clues about what happens. What should I do?

Could you create a crash dump?
This topic explains how to enable crash dumps, and what additional data might be useful.
Then upload the file to any sharing site (dropbox, wikisend and so on) and post here its download link with the additional information.
