Starting from version 0.51a, file timestamp is saved as UTC, which is unaffected with DST changes.
If you run earlier versions, files might be rehashing due to this timestamp difference.

Before that change, I used to have rehashings twice a year.

Go to Options -> Connection -> Test ports redirects to emule-project.net and reports what UDP port failed. Can't connect to Kad network too. Log reports "Failed to bootstrap Kad. Your nodes.dat might be outdated or there is a connection problem." until all nodes is deleted.

The port test is not 100% reliable.

I did a quick check of KAD connection in a clean installation.

Made sure that configuration would be stored in program's directory.
Got 0.51c binaries from Downloads here.
Unpacked to c:\eMule
Started eMule, completed first run Wizard.
Answered to firewall prompt and allowed eMule.

KAD connected immediately, even though the router has port forwarding blocked.

Did all as you said and UDP port is reachable (Test ports) and KAD is working on eMule 0.51c. Is it possible that using eMule 0.51c on USB drive mounted on folder can cause the problem. Or maybe eMule 0.50a PortableApp launcher causes it! Any ideas?!

eMule ran fine from a USB disk.
I did not test it with USB flash, or used any launchers, so cannot tell much here.

eMule v0.51b UDP works fine from USB, but v0.51c - don't. You can add additional partition on existing storage and mount it on C:\USB folder. And try run it from C:\USB\Portable\PortableApps\eMulePortable\App\eMule folder. Try out https://portableappz...3-plus-12e.html launcher too.

What kind of USB?
Any useful information in logs?
Unpacked 0.51c binaries on USB flash drive, port test was successful, ed2k and KAD connected fine.
So in my case USB was not the issue both for disk and flash drives.
If eMule is configured to have "everything in program's directory" and disk drive letter is the same, it is portable without helper applications.

fox88 kudos for the work. As I wrote years ago, you were really in hunting code bugs here and there. Having a release from you, with all your bug fixes, is nice. I hope you keep up with it

fox88, found new bug. Example, you have 4 categories and in second (2) category have list of completed files and you decide remove 3 category. All completed files in second (2) category shifts to fourth (4) (third (3) left as previous third (3) was removed) category. All completed files shifts +next category by how much categories you delete after specific category.

When a category is removed, each of its files is to be moved to a category with suitable properties - or to All, if nothing better was found.

If you are sure it is a bug, please create a minimal, but complete example.
Something like this.
1. Create a clean installation; it could be in c:\emule-cat; preferably having all configuration in program's directory.
2. Create categories named 1, 2 etc. with desired properties (directory, auto-assignment, filter....).
3. Create several files: as simple as 1.txt having one character '1', 2.txt having character '2' - and so on as few as necessary.
Or use whatever names needed for category auto-assignment.
4. Create ed2k links for these files; add the links to downloads.
5. Pack the files, and config directory
6. Upload the archive to any file sharing service
7. Post this link here with description: which category was removed, and where the results differ from your expectations.

Small bug report (v0.51c / Win7): "Remember cancelled files" and "Remember downloaded files" work only partially.

Every time I'm adding an already cancelled or downloaded file I don't get the usual warning / info box. Emule simply starts downloading the file again. I monitored
"cancelled.met" for test purposes. If I'm cancelling downloads the ".met" file size increases a few bytes after I am closing emule. A cancelled file appears
in green when I search for it, so this seems to work like it should.

All in all v0.51c is stable, download/upload speeds are good and up till now I had no crashes whatsoever. Glad to see that fox88 is improving the software. Thank you.

This is not a bug but only the official emule.

Thanks for the reply SS1900. It didn't cross my mind that the official client doesn't have such a practical feature implemented . I'm normally
using a modded eMule and over the years I came to rely on the client warning me when trying to download cancelled or completed files again.

I'm looking for update the italian traslation and I've noticied that emule.rc inside "lang" folder is not alligned with emule.rc file inside srchybrid folder, so for start to traslate the missing lines I have alligned these files.

emule.rc inside "lang" folder is not used when building emule or language dlls.
I will see if there is a better way than keeping two copies of the same data.

When I replace executable file of 0.50b beta with 0.51, I see the same font sizes.
