It crashes every day. How can I understand the reason for these crashes?

You allow using Mediainfo versions up to 19.04 but last properly working Mediainfo version is actually 18.05

After 18.05 there's a problem because of this change:

Mediainfo Changelog - Version 18.08, 2018-08-31

Quote

+ AC-3/DTS/AAC: display of info about legacy decoders behavior removed
+ AC-3/DTS/AAC: some changes in how format is displayed
+ AC-3/DTS/AAC: better split between technical names and commercial names

If file has AAC or AC-3 audio because of some changes in their display names after 18.08 Mediainfo doesn't work correctly.

18.05 is the last version works correctly with emule.

Everything works as expected: should mediainfo.dll provide data, eMule would display it.

eMule cannot be responsible for design decisions of mediaarea people.

No it does not, mediainfo provides data but emule can't understand it so doesn't display it because of a change in some display names. I'm talking about only some files like files that have AAC audio etc.

I showed you the changelog entry causing it. 18.05 is the last version works as expected and emule can fully understand the returned data. After 18.05 emule can't understand some data thus doesn't display them while with 18.05 it can understand it and display with same file.
I tested it thoroughly, what I'm saying is correct, 18.05 is the last version works correctly and fully.

Wrong, if a software fails to adapt to the changes of a library it uses, then that's the bug and responsibility of the software that uses that library, this statement is just a nonsense.

The "removed" part of the changelog entry means nothing then, correct?

By the way, "not working" reports are not very helpful.
Most of the data is still present on screen, so please try to be more specific; and do not expect that anybody has a collection of media files with all imaginable combinations of codecs, number of channels and so on.

You're right with that, apologize, my bad.

Will give examples now. Look carefully at the places I made bold.

Sample 1 with only AAC audio:

As you can see there are some changes in display names of especially AAC formats. So if MediaInfo.dll version is higher than 18.05 emule fails to understand the returned data when a file has AAC audio and doesn't display codec name for both video and audio.

I'm not too good at coding but maybe this page helps: https://github.com/M...v18.05...v18.08

That "more relevant" attitude is almost a "If I close my eyes, the world will cease to exist".
The fact is, dll returns no data where it was expected.

Thank you for the examples.
But this is mediainfo utility's output, not eMule's.
eMule never used channel layout or position, format version, info or profile.
And probably sampling rate and frame rates were shown in Contents tab.

Are you feeling ready to discuss in detail, what data is returned, and how eMule fails to understand it?

I just said that because of the difference in text of the output data between versions. Change part looked more relevant to me, because as you can see both versions produces the data, just with a little different text.

Mediainfo utility uses very same library

The fact is, dll returns no data where it was expected.

It returns data, it's there, emule can't understand it. Libraries can change, programs using it can choose to adapt themselves or not. I just wrote my initial message to inform other people that last correctly and fully working version is 18.05, that's all. You didn't need to take this so hostile.

This is the correct comparison URL btw: https://github.com/M...v18.05...v18.08

Found this: https://github.com/M...nfoLib/pull/941

So maybe it's solvable with just this Legacy=1 option?
