Hi eMulers,

Strangest thing happened today. For over 2 years, on one of my particular computers, eMule has run flawlessly. Today, however, it wouldn't start up from the desktop shortcut (which has ALWAYS worked in the past), even after a hard reboot. I finally got it to run with the .exe in the eMule folder using "Run As Administrator," and it worked, however, it acted like I had just downloaded it. My Transfers were all gone, and it would not connect to either the ED2K or KAD.

After screwing around with nodes and other information I found on the internet (of which I have no idea what any of it means) for over two hours, I finally got the ED2K to work. But then I was getting some strange "ERROR: Could not create part file" nonsense. This went on for a 1/2 hour or so of dinking around, and after closing the program and opening it again for the fifth or sixth time, the error stopped coming up; no idea why or what I did to stop it.

Then, finally, KAD appeared to connect, as well. However, now when I do a search, I get no results. NONE! It doesn't say that KAD is not connected, which it was saying before, but still no results.

Folks, I honestly don't know what happened here, but my patience has worn thin after messing with this for three hours. Time, of which, I had other, now thwarted, plans to fill with. Can someone please tell me why the KAD won't search and how to fix it? Laymen's terms would be highly appreciated.

Thank you, kindly,

T-Man

P.S. Also, it appears that I have about 210 when I startup eMule. It looks up about six nodes, sends packets, and receives no responses. Don't know if that helps, but hopefully it will.

The data provided by you is not very clear, but it hardly was KAD or ED2K problem.
More like eMule installation got messed up.
Have you installed anything or in other ways changed OS/computer/user configurations and settings?
