I am publishing my multimedia files.
I can see their Codec, Bitrate, Length in the Details/Content view.
When I search for those files from another machine running emule, I can see them in the Search window, but the Codec, Bitrate, Length fields are empty there.
While there are plenty of files having that info filled, how do folks get it published?

There are for example files that don't show that information in the search but they show it in the shared files window.
Just now I've tried to re-search two files with codec "H264 (MPEG-4 AVC)" and "XVID (Xvid MPEG-4)" (both had got also bitrate and length), and those data aren't available in the search window.
Then, I've tried to search a file without data, and in the search window it shows "DX50 (DivX 5)".
Maybe the tools, used by those users, add directly and automatically those data to the files.

I don't know why those data appear in the search window and disappear in the shared files window, and vice versa.

Sometimes, I used Kid3 (available on sourceforge) to add/modify/remove metadata to mp3 files.

I wonder this same thing, how other users get to publish their metadata of shared files?

None of my files' metadata is seen on search windows, but I can see plenty of files with metadata in search windows when I search something.

How these files' metadata are published to the server/kad in the first place? I don't see any setting about this and none of my files gets their metadata published.

It would help people searching things.

Shared files get published to the server upon connect.
Exchanging data between client's will also share these data, the metadata are ed2k tag's like many other information.
Maybe the issue is within the eMule client not filling out the right metadata for the files,
because in order to do this you'd have to support new codecs which come around. (As you need to access the file information)

I'm not sure where this is handled in the eMule source.
