My SSD was receiving significant writes (around 15-20 GiB a day)

After some investigation i found that eMule is largely to blame for this since my known.met is around 81 MiB and gets rewritten fully every couple minutes
cancelled.met and known2_64.met are less of an issue since they only get data added to the end but known.met is an issue for SSD's

Maybe its an idea to move the downloaded file information to a separate file so that that one only gets data added on to it as with cancelled.met and known2_64.met. That way known.met will be smaller and will cause less wear and tear on SSD's

I use cheaper and portable solution: all configuration data in eMule directory on ordinary HDD.
SSD is left for OS only.

For the time being you can disable the "Remember downloaded files" option and it will purge all files from the known.met which aren't shared and not seen for some time, which should reduce the size a lot.
