well "high" relatively. ed2k is able to be, according to that company, in the top10 usages in Europe, but still minuscule compared to torrent.
Nevertheless for me is not a battle like 'people should use the protocol X' i wanted to know what is the current situation. In general every (alive) protocol has pro and cons. It seems that aside from torrent, the others are used very a little (in terms of bandwidth). That's it.
Well you misunderstood my friend. When I said "HIGH" it was compared to regional user based on ED2K's userbase, go to: (http://edk.peerates.net/peers.php?) there aren't any full ED2K sites left anymore but Peerates is still among us. I told you from the start this is not Torrent vs ED2K, as thats not what ED2K is about. Torrent is dominate as we all know it and no one is denying that but as it has been discussed many times over the years by design what Torrent is doing is what ED2K should do and what ED2K is doing is what Torrent should have done, the role has reversed.
Its actually very inconvenient for someone to share via Torrent compared to drag and drop of ED2K. Furthermore ~mule is using hybrid network where ED2K (2G-P2P; centralized) and KAD (3G-P2P; decentralized). I can go on with Torrent but as I said thats not what its about. Torrent gained a lot of publicity with TBP not to mention Pirate Party in Sweden to fight civil rights, copyright, patent law, ect.
Torrent has a very low life span where all file ends up in ED2K in the end. Look at my stats I just returned like month ago back to P2P after I had all my servers shutdown by force in 2010. I passed 2TB already, so make sure to share on ED2K
if you share it they will come...
