Hello all, I'm new here, thanks for any help you can provide for my problem. I had eMule 50a installed in an external drive due to small hard drive on Acer Aspire running Vista Home Premium x32 Service Pack 3. External drive crashed and I have been trying to install eMule 50a to a new external WD 2tb drive but after 4 attempts I keep getting a fail on my port tests and when I launch eMule and try to connect I get a a 'Fatal error' on my connection and a message saying "Failed to connect to all servers listed". So I've attempted to check my firewall - McAfee Total Protection 2015 - and upon checking my programs given permission to connect there, eMule is listed and with designated ports allowed but I still cannot get eMule to connect either in Kad or for servers I only get the message "connecting". Any suggestions for me please. Many Thanks. :worthy:

Hi, McAfee is known to be problematic even if set up properly, so try to disable its firewall anyway.

We still don't know if your configuration is OK.
Fix your server configuration: in eMule Options - Server, untick first 3 options and the number six: Auto-update server list at startup, Update server list when connecting to a server, Update server list when a client connects and Autoconnect to servers in static list only, add a tick to other options if necessary.
In 'Servers' select all servers, right click on a server and choose, if possible 'Remove From Static List'.
Right click on a server, choose 'Remove all', click in the space under 'Update server.met from URL' and press Ctrl and Del, then paste one of the following:

http://gruk.org/server.met.gz
http://peerates.net/servers.php
http://shortypower.org/server.met
http://upd.emule-security.org/server.met

right click on PEERATES.NET, choose Priority - Low, repeat for PeerBooter, click Disconnect and then Connect.

If you still have trouble please use this schema and give us more information.
Copy paste code and answer between quotes, otherwise you mess up things and my work will be quite useless.

If you have reserved an IP address (from your router settings), it is not necessary to set a static IP to your PC.

Be sure you know how to reset (to factory defaults) your device and note down the data for connecting to your ISP.
(in case of troubles, you can reset the router and you'll need those data - vpi - vci - username and password of your connection, and so forth...
those data are personal/private, you_SHOULD_NOT_post_them_here --- ONLY_you_should_know_them).

Thanks Zanqune for your quick response and great help. My problem is fixed w/o having to disable McAfee firewall as your previous solution to Platarium also worked for me and I just added this Thank You and reply there to that answer post a couple of minutes ago. I added this reply/update there:

"I posted a request for help on 04/15/2015 about "Upon Re-Install, Port Tests fail, why?" and I decided to keep reading for similar questions and stumbled upon Zangune/s reply to Platarium and your/his answer worked for me and opened up my ports and allowed me to connect. Thanks to you/him for his very clear and very well guided answer and solution. You are great and very generous and this forum is very helpful and great to find. Thanks to all. nufor33"

Thanks millions again, You're the Best... :worthy: :+1: :flowers:
