I have opened a thread before (seems to be gone now) and was told pretty much same, that it's somehow not eMule's fault, even though I fail to see the point there. I will get back to you with exact screenshot of date/time of an affected file.

The same here. No UPnP working on official emule 0.50a and 0.50b, UPnP full working on kmule.
TPLINK TL-WR841ND last firmware.

Could you try to post verbose logs of successful UPnP action in kMule?

Edit. If nobody is interesting in making things better, it will remain the same.

Does this has something to do with the UPnP failure after restart eMule a fixed number of times? Once that happened, I'll have to reboot my router to get it work again.

Maybe it was router's fault, not eMule's?

My little test.
Downloaded 0.50b beta1 binary, unpacked and executed first run wizard.
I enabled UPnP in router, and about 5 times in Options->Connections did the following: check 'Use UPnP to setup ports' - 'Apply' - see successful forwarding in Verbose log - uncheck 'Use UPnP...' - 'Apply' - and repeat the sequence again.
So it was working.
Then I started and exited eMule about 30 times, each time with successful UPnP results.

My result for this is constant failing:

Can you guys try the X-mod, in which there's an UPnP implementation from ACAT?

In that particular case it would be incorrect way to go.

Official and kMule use more or less the same implementation, but different versions of the same library:
0.50a 1.4
kMule 1.8
0.50b 1.9

So the real question is: are implementation differences meaningful, or there is a regression in miniupnpc library.

If lucky owners of TP-Link feel technical enough to try command line utility and test library itself, here is the link to downloads page. You will need Windows executable, starting with the latest one with the name upnpc-exe-win32-20140422.zip.

My case is that 0.50a sometimes sets up UPnP ports and sometimes shows the same error like 0.50b, 0.50b have never set up UPnP, kmule have always set up UPnP ports.

I have tried upnpc-exe-win32-20101213.zip, upnpc-exe-win32-20140422.zip and current upnpc-exe-win32-20150918.zip. All set up port without errors. Output for the old upnpc-exe-win32-20140422.zip:
e:\Install\Internet\upnpc-exe-win32-20140422>upnpc-shared.exe -a 192.168.1.102 53997 53997 TCP

It seems my router does not support IGD v2. I am not a professional on it but may be it can be useful:

@fox88

Hello, is it possible to do some kind of compression improvement?

I for example am using mod with "Compresslevel (1-9) = 9

Does the official client also use compression right? It will be possible to do an improvement, that is to receive more for less sent!

Thank you, good continuation is doing much for ed2k

Just missing even add slotfocus would be perfect, so ed2k can have even more joy!

Any way to give yourself value for your work? I want to give you a hand for the burned hours of your sight!
Maybe pay pal or something like that!

Greetings from Portugal

Thanks for the logs.
As expected,, kMule's log shows that miniupnpc fails, then Windows implementation works.
It is possible to merge kMule's code changes, but testing is a problem as there are no TP-Link routers nearby.

You should post that data in miniupnp forum.
Either library code could be improved or it would be confirmed that there are bugs in router's IGD implementation.

I think it does.
There is no point in allowing users to change compression level.

I cannot select a color for tray icon speed graph anymore. No matter what color I pick, it always defaults to black which is annoying. I can't see it on dark taskbar...

some languages, like italian, have IDS_CONFIRM_FILEDELETE traslated but eMule don't load the string.

Quote

IDS_CONFIRM_FILEDELETE "Vuoi davvero rimuovere tutti i file selezionati?"

maybe we have a bug in SharedFilesCtrl.cpp
if (IDNO == AfxMessageBox(GetResString(IDS_CONFIRM_FILEDELETE),MB_ICONWARNING | MB_ICONQUESTION | MB_DEFBUTTON2 | MB_YESNO))
return TRUE;

for me "| MB_ICONQUESTION" should be deleted

same identical problem when try to delete all servers
ServerListCtrl.cpp
case MP_REMOVEALL:
		if (AfxMessageBox(GetResString(IDS_REMOVEALLSERVERS), MB_ICONQUESTION | MB_YESNO | MB_DEFBUTTON2) != IDYES)
return TRUE;

but it is traslated:

Quote

IDS_REMOVEALLSERVERS "Sei sicuro di voler rimuovere tutti i server?"

in TransferWnd.cpp ,IDS_Q_CANCELDL is correctly traslated:
	case MP_CANCEL:
			if (AfxMessageBox(GetResString(IDS_Q_CANCELDL),MB_ICONQUESTION|MB_YESNO) == IDYES)
				theApp.downloadqueue->SetCatStatus(rightclickindex,MP_CANCEL);
break;

Quote

IDS_Q_CANCELDL "Sei sicuro di voler eliminare questi file?\n"

You should. Try to start eMule without stored searches.

New unofficial build.

UPnP changes could not be tested properly without routers.
Please report if it was working previously but now fails.

New unofficial build.

UPnP changes could not be tested properly without routers.
Please report if it was working previously but now fails.

It was working for me, and it isn't working anymore now.

Edit: I tried again. I rebooted eMule and it seems working again but it shows 'UPnP failed to setup port forwardings, please foward those ports manually if necessary!' anyway. Let's wait for more people testing it...

Sorry, what does that mean? How could UPnP be working if it fails?
I assume that you restarted eMule (applications are not rebooted).
Though it might be useful to reboot router before testing.

As far as I remember, you had Huawei router which never worked with miniupnpc library.
If UPnP fails, please tell the model of the router and post relevant log lines (both Log and Verbose tabs). Otherwise such reports would be unusable.

Also it would be nice to know the results from TP-Link router owners.

Due to bug fix in zlib 1.2.11, here is an updated unofficial build.
No other notable changes.

My testing of UPnP with 2 available routers was successful. So it should be kind of working.

fox88, anything that we should know to use the latest zlib compiled with eMule? I've been trying it with no success.

Transition was uneventful. Not sure if that helps.

Something odd with Github: .zip with executable was not seen and it had to be reuploaded.

Sorry, my mistake, I didn't explain it well. I have been testing it and checking logs and this is what happens. Yes I have a Huawei router. The UPnP redirection never worked when I used Windows XP but now it seems working on Windows 10. No idea why.

eMule v0.50b BETA1: working, High ID.

This is what I logged. Anyway sometimes in the official version eMule 0.50a shows UPnP failed but ports were redirected correctly or eMule connects before ports are redirected. No idea if it's a router issue or eMule issue but I saw it many times in other users too.
