Hi there, me again... I had to resinstall Windows and emule again.... so now I know how to open the ports but for some reason my Kad is not connecting... I looked up the forum http://forum.emule-p...howtopic=154367, but not sure if this is out of date... it was working earlier and isn't now, can someone help? What are the things I need to check and do you need me to send any screenshots?

This is how to connect to Kad network.

No, re-try.
Go to server tab, connect to emule security or tv underground, go to search tab, select global (servers) method, click reset, copy the following code (emule 0.50a installer), paste it in the search-box and then click start:

Double left click it to add it to your transfers tab (your downloads), then go to kad tab, click cancel or disconnect, select from known clients, click bootstrap.

Anyway you are not connected to any server, so maybe you didn't download anything so maybe you didn't read my first line: start to download something
You have to setup your local network and eMule before trying to connect to Kad network.

Thanks Xilolee, looks like it is working now... Zangune, I did want to try and download something, but nothing came under searches and I didn't know how to "manually" download something... but anyway, hope this lasts for a while now, thanks again for all your help!

The wording is not very clear.
Some things could be downloaded or updated automatically.
But here you have to do certain actions yourself, like downloading files using browser and then probably copy or open it. Hence, manually.

In Search as search method the default choice is Automatic, I will skip details, but if you use that search method and Kad is connecting and you are not connected to any server you will get no results at all, that's your case and is pretty common.
