Howdy,

I have been using eMule version 1.2e for many years on XP and have had no problems.

I changed the machine to windows 2010 Home Server and moved the hard drive there. At first, all seemed to work well, but after several weeks I noticed that I was getting "unable to make partfile" for "partfile not found" ERRORS.

This eMule as still working but the speed slowed down dramatically --- like 1/100th. I modified the firewall to allow the requested ports to have free access, but there was not change. Then another user said I should download the latest 0.5 at Source forge, but I am concerned about my existing temp folder and all the part files that are there. I do not want to loose them.

Any suggestions?

Also, how is version 0.5 a later version than version 1.2e?

emule plus 1.2e is another version of emule. A so-called fork.

I replied several times asking about compatability of my TEMP FOLDER and part files, but the replays do not seem to be posting.

The temp folder is usually not deleted, even after uninstalling the program. This is true for official emule (i.e., I tried it, and not only me), but I can't say the same for emule plus (given that I never used it).
The best thing you can do, if you want to change version to emule 0.50a, is to change emule-plus temp folder (so it will be blank) and your actual temp folder will be intact. Then you can uninstall emule-plus without fear and install 0.50a.
