I don't know, if you already noticed it, but the EU is going to reform copyright soon.
In this context the EU is asking all people, companies, organizations in the EU - so, also
YOU: "How copyright should be changed?" - the result of this survey also will be published
on this website in approximately 6 months.

That's really a very precious opportunity to have influence on EU copyright; and that for 2 reasons:
1. The result of this survey is the foundation of future steps of the EU in this area.
2. Probably the next time when we will get asked to copyright will be only in 10 years.

EVERYBODY within the EU is asked and especially we as civil society should participate in this, as payed
industry lobbyists definitely will participate and hope, that they won't get outvoted by the population !

The problem regarding this issue is, that in disfavor of civil society the survey is inaccessible in multiple ways.
As a reaction on this, a group of basic rights NGOs and net activists - to which also I count - worked out and
published a website on the recently past 30th Chaos Communication Congress, which makes it a lot
easier to participate in this survey: copywrongs.eu

This website makes it possible to answer this survey in just 15 minutes, if one makes it short.

So: Please answer this survey - tell the EU, if you ever had problems with copyright
or if there is anything you totally dislike regarding our today's copyright.
Make use of this opportunity, it's really important. The survey is open til the 5th of March.

Doing this goes like this:
1. Go on copywrongs.eu - answer a couple of questions, which are important to you.
2. Download your reply and send it via e-mail to the european commission.

Finally some hints:
  • The best place for telling the EU how to deal with non-commercial filesharing and online-streaming of copyright protected content
is question 23 - click on problem case 'I don't dare to make a remix because of fear of repercussions' in order to get to question 23
  • Do you want to say what you think of copy protection like DRM and the fact, that copyright currently protects copy protection ? Best
place for telling this is question 80 - click on problem case 'I am confused about legality of subtitling, translating or converting media' in order to get to question 80

Just a short reminder: This is the last weekend before the deadline, which is in 5 days on wednesday the 5th of March.
So, if you are a EU citizen and you haven't told the EU how to change copyright, yet, then take the chance this weekend.
