Hello,

searching for eMule on google I get a plethora of search results. I've encountered emule.com which has versions of emule, including "aMule" and "eMule plus", but nowhere does it say or have a link to emule-project.net.

1. I'd like to know if I could trust that website, or any other website hosting versions/mods of emule.
2. Is there an "official" list of mods that are credible, recommended, trusted to be virus/malware/adware/spyware free?

(I'd recommend that a list like (if it's at all possible to create such a list) that were added somewhere on the emule-project website. It would do a lot of good to humanity. )

Thanks!

1. Well you can usually trust sites that offer downloads along with the source code and don't want anything from you (money, signup for some strange service, etc.) but to be sure, never trust anything besides the official site www.emule-project.net.
2. See xilolees link and the mod sub forums

Best mod that i've tried so far is kMule. Mostly because it's simplified and KAD centered mod which makes it easier to use and just works well. Most others have 500 billion tweaks and settings that only releasers will care about.

agree on that.
Moreover some of that feature-mania stuff can seriously hamper eMule, if not correctly/ sensibly configured.

Add to that that many mods (and/or their documentation) are outdated or even abandoned ...

I like(d) this wiki which has explanations for some mod features.
Read, pick your wanted features and so a mod. B)
