Hello
I hope that some people here know the eMule code well enough to answer this question.
It is always possible to move or delete a file (be it shared file or a partial file) while eMule is running. eMule just does not care and continue doing its business properly.
I would like to know what Windows filesystem call is used to open the files to make it work this way.
Thank you for your help.
Jo

Define "do not care" :)
eMule won't crash but of course some exceptions occur when moving a file that is currently accessed.

Thank you for the quick answer :)

Bye "eMule does not care" I mean that when I move or delete a file being uploaded by eMule, it never crashes nor complains.
There is no message from the OS such as "this action cannot be completed because the file is opened in eMule".
eMule just stops uploading the file.

Are you sure? Pet of mine complains for partial files *.part, but doesn't complain for *.part.met/bak.

OK, my mistake, you are right, the OS complains if I try to delete a part file during download.
But it is still possible to move/delete files being uploaded.

Yes... And, in this case, your pet ( :D ) shows to the other clients that you have shared that file, but the other clients will read no queue rank number from your pet.

So, anybody can tell me how does eMule open files so that it is always possible to move/delete a file being uploaded without any complain from the OS ?

:)
