Hi there!

Guys... I need to reformat my HD right now but I'm afraid to lose the files still waiting for download at emule...

It seems to me that there are more than just a few archives there waiting on the queue, so it would be really, really hard to take note of all of them and then perform searches and put them to download again, once I reformat and reinstall emule...

Is there any way to "save" all those files for use once emule is reinstalled? Like some file I can save and then put at the newly installed emule directories and then all my queue at the "transfers" screen will be restored?

I'm not worried about temporary download files - I can just download it again and my files are usually very small and very rare - but only about my downloads list.

Thanks in advance.

Vlad

usually you need only to copy in a safe place the config folder ( it contains all your emule setting/server/credits ) and temp folder ( it contains all your downloading files ) folders . if you want also the incoming folder if there are some downloaded files .at end ( after the formatting )you should only copy and paste them in a new emule installation .

Hey SS1900! Thanks a lot! You just saved my day!

Just to see if I understood it well: I should just make a backup of the "config" and "temp" and after reinstalling eMule I should just paste the folders in their respective places - and then when I first open eMule all the files currently on my queue will still remain there at the "transfers" screen. Is that it?

Sorry if I look too obtuse, but my English sucks - you have surely noticed that from my post - so I thought it was better to confirm... Just in case.

On a side note.. I have noticed your avatar and it puzzled me... Does it has anything to do with DotA's Icefrog? :)

Cheers,

Vlad

Ok! Thought that could also just be the imageshack logo...

Again, thank you a lot, man (or woman)!

If it didn't work you didn't copy the right folders or didn't paste them to the right place. Take a look on Shared usage

Cheers :D

I copied the config and temp folders and put them in the root emule directory, just as instructed. Its not working. My transfers list is empty and my settings are at default.

Did you read the link about Shared usage? Depending on your setting about sharing files with other users in your computer, the config and temp folder are in different paths, not in emule root directory.

Cheers :D

How to show hidden files and folders in windows 7 (and probably also in every other windows version):

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Show-hidden-files

Possible default paths for config folder in windows vista, windows 7, windows 8, windows 8.1, windows 10:

Quote

C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\eMule\Config
C:\ProgramData\eMule\Config
C:\Program Files(x86)\eMule\Config
C:\Program Files\eMule\Config

Possible default paths for temp folder in windows vista, windows 7, windows 8, windows 8.1, windows 10:

Quote

C:\Users\%Username%\Downloads\eMule\Temp
C:\Users\Public\Public Downloads\eMule\Temp
C:\Program Files(x86)\eMule\Temp
C:\Program Files\eMule\Temp
