Hi guys and gals,

Much in contrast to the development of the last few years I am happy to release the 4th version of MorphXT within only a few months. This version is focused on improving the existing code and using Visual Studio 2010.

First of all, this version includes updated libs and Visual Studio 2010 solution and project files. This makes MorphXT the first mod to provide sources that will compile on VS 2010 without any more ado. However, switching to VS 2010 also resulted in a growth in size of the executable file of about 1.5 MB. The reason for this lies within the change to VS 2010 although probably only Microsoft knows what the exact reason for this is. Nevertheless is this change enabling me to use a more convenient development environment and this is also a step toward using the state of the art development environment provided by Microsoft, which I consider good!

Also, the sorting that got a little weird in 12.3 is now improved and works like expected. Sorry about any inconvenience. There are some more bugfixes, please read the changelog for more.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank WiZaRd who contributed some patches, fixes and changes to this version. Most notably his fix that will solve the trouble with downloading files from SourceForge mirrors. Well then, have fun!

First off, thanks for the new version, the sorting in 12.3 was quite annoying. Anyway I would like to report one bug that I have found. Whenever I try to delete an active transfer from the downloads tab (one that is downloading and/or uploading) emule simply freezes, and must be force restarted. Happened to me two times now, never before though.

i never encountered that but then, i rarely cancel downloading files. can anyone confirm this?

*could* be related the threading Morph uses... we'd really need additional information about that one (uploading only/downloading only/both, size of the transfer, etc.)

I don't know if it helps.
Any Emule version I use I see it temporary freezing when I delete a file (even more if I delete multiple files) and it is because of the antivirus that checks the removed files.

BTW, my ignorant question: Is there any benefit (from the user side) in VS 2010?

well, imo yes, because we use a development environment that is specifically developed for development for the latest Microsoft Windows OS. although new errors are sometimes introduced i usually believe that it's just getting better. so i hope using improved SDKs and compilers will benefit users.

Didn't want to write first post with this, but yes I deleted file and freezed did this couple times . But it doesn't freeze every time.

something in your log when it happens?

if you want me to fix anything i need more information. what are your system specs, how many downloads, what settings, what Anti-Virus software, any significant logging and so on! the more the better^^

System vista 64 bit, 1-2 download one freeze on deleting mp3 , second some movie, settings what exactly do you mean ? avast free edition.

connection download 7000 no limit > I was downloading with about 10 kB/s
upload 3600 > and I was uploading that speed to 20-30 persons second time I was uploading about 1000 kB/s speed.

Max sources 1000 / max connections 800

Exteneded - Max new connections / 5 secs: 50
max half open connections : 50

Mod options:
Morph > slot limiter > limit to X slots > 60
Morph share > disabled powershare
Eastshare > ShowFlag

Nothing else changed. Everytime when I change to new version I delete preferences.ini

honestly, if this is too much of a hassle for you don't bother at all. if you did not take the catch the first time, why do you believe i was asking for as much information as possible? prolly because i don't feel like pestering you with questions on what might be of interest for me over the course of ten posts!

Btw on WinXP SP3 I am experiencing repainting issues. I think it's VS 2010 related because I didn't have them earlier. E.g. when you remove a search tab then the tab still remains as a ghost tab. Switching to transfers and back removes it.

When i try to compile emule with VS2003 and WINXP x64 i get some errors in IP2Country.cpp:

analog70: this is weird because the doc says it got those members. try either including commctrl.h or deleting the lines. i did not check this in detail because the documentation did not hint it had changed lately. also thanks for the wording... it was late and i was tired!

Windows Vista SP2 64bit, 4 gb ram, intel e8400, radeon hd4850, 1680x1050. DOESN'T MATTER HOW MANY DOWNLOADS ADDED ONE MP3 - DELETED IT WHILE IT STARTED DOWNLOAD AND IT FREEZES. I just wanted to report that not only person in first post have this bug. Goodbye.
