Hi folks,

Our last release was not exactly long ago and yet we give you another version of eMule MorphXT! This version focuses on improving SafeHash and fixing a few errors.

Specifically, SafeHash is now also using the AICH hashsets to confirm newly downloaded chunks are okay. This holds the major benefit that we finally combine the benefits of SafeHash with the more advanced mechanisms of eMule 0.50a completely.

Thanks to our beloved omeringen Turkish users are finally able to enjoy the installer in their mother tongue. Tomchen1989 also contributed some more country flags.

Unlike the official client eMule MorphXT changed the NNP A4AF handling so we would not stop downloading if a source turned NNP and we could swap it to another file. Unfortunately, this got broken starting 11.3. It is thanks to omering's incredibly annoying nagging that I finally traced down this problem and fixed it. So now we are back to improved download, yay!

Now, with out much further ado I thank everyone who tested this version, translated our new strings and provided me with valuable input. Oh and btw, you can turn off the FakeAlyzer colors now. Have fun using eMule MorphXT 12.3!

Known bugs:

• Download status sorting got weird... reverting to old way (for the most part) in next version. [not crucial!]

Since I preferred the old way (where on the upper part of the list I had "Transferring" and small QR's) I am wondering if this can be turned back somewhere in the Options

turns out i got confused there... i will revert most of that change until next version. really sorry for any inconvenience. anyway, this is not something very important so i will not rush a release just for this. it is a bit inconvenient, i give you that but it will have to do until next version is due, which is most likely a long time off from now.

btw, you are the second to notice. ;-)

indeed, although it makes no difference because we should have m_htiFakeAlyzerIndications if m_htiStaticIcon is available. :-D thanks for pointing it out, though.

for those who don't know what the heck we are talking about, this is more about proper code than proper functionality. it will function just fine without this fix and i remain with this statement until somebody proves me wrong without doubt!

Morphxt still work on .Netframework 3.5 ?

Can you build a version that work with .net 2.0 without effort?

what system do you use? if you use Windows XP SP3 or above that is fully updated you will not have any problems. updating your OS is also highly recommended!

Thanks for reply! I know it (if you mean update the same OS without change Xp to vista or seven or whatever). I use old but gold win2k sp4 (that is excellent for application like emule and old machines , pIII, that use less energy than newer).

So you reply mean "no, i can build it for 2.0 without effort", i guess.

PS. if you use .net can you mix C# Classes and C++ classes (from existing code) or not?

There was an announcement about this, support for Windows OS that are no longer supported by Microsoft themselves is, as of v12.0, defunct. I see no point in supporting an OS that even the manufacturer is no longer supporting.

Anyway, the point about the .NET Framework dependency is that eMule is built using Microsoft Visual Studio which incorporates the whole .NET Framework. Since switched to the latest Windows SDK the minimum requirements for built applications have risen. This is something that is inherited from the Microsoft design. However, like I said, eMule MorphXT will run on any currently supported (by Microsoft) Windows operating system, given that all available - most importantly the .NET Framework - updates are installed.

To avoid confusion - which apparently happen to at least one person from this board, although that is not you, *ANY* eMule built is dependent on the .NET Framework, although most require only .NET Framework 2.0. The difference is caused because they still rely on, IMO, outdated development platforms. However, MorphXT comes with a complete source package which is about ready to build! You can get that and compile Morph yourself on Visual Studio 2003 SP1 without any further ado. Compiling the sources on VS05 or 08 requires some more work but all the necessary steps are explained in a .txt file in the package!
