ive been looking into this for ages and can't figure out how to do or if it possible

i have .part file and no .met file, or part and a .met but when i open the met it just says nul nul nul nul

my emule opened on start up so download.txt only shows not corrupt ones

i have 7 files in emule and 16 .part files so lost 9 files

is there a way to find out what they were or regenerate the .met files from the .part files or are they gone?

i have tried donkeydoctor, known metinator, metfilerecovery and none work. why has a .bak file if that can corrupt too then?

thank you

Only if you know correspondence between ed2k links and .part files you could try to save some of the already downloaded data.
Otherwise start downloading again.

hi

yes i read that first :)

the problem are many

  • i didnt know files were losing. it wasnt 9 all go at once. just noticed them
  • downlaods.txt only shows the not corruptde onts and the bak is same
  • i have no idea what the files were, i just upgraded computer and had copied the tmp folder in
  • logs are off, didnt know it did this

the only thing i have is the part file :( i think it is then impossible to recover

If you are lucky, or if the "allocate full file size for non-sparse part files" was activated, the part file could have reached its maximum size (example: 100 MB) and you can do a search using it (min size: 99.99 and max size 100.01... if you try with the kB values, it is best)

Hi Xilolee,

I posted something and I do not know if this was the correct place to post and have been looking for an answer for quite a while regarding re-generation. So, as not to duplicate the posted question, I will refer you to: https://forum.emule-...howtopic=162044

Thanks, Bono, in advance for your help. FreeCat
