About SK: I noticed that SK servers are offline... and filtered by peerates website list.
but I´d prefer wait (so SK2&4´s offline atm, but SK1&3 not) to next release becouse it´d be that its IP get free to normal user.

There's a typo in the last line:
240.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.25 , 160 , [LN]IANA Reserved for private use FNLC

I'm pretty sure it should be .255 instead of .25
Same issue in v136. It seems that some combining script or whatever is used for that has an issue.

Hi,
Could you please remove the "»" characters at the beginning of the file? These characters make aMule unable to parse the ipfilter, and all it takes is to remove them for it to work again.

I think it would make more sense to correct this at the aMule code, but the developers don't seem to be very much into that. All you need here is to remove the "»"s from the first 10 chars of the ipfilter.dat.
See here for the (reply to the) bug report at the aMule forums: http://www.amule.org...g87163#msg87163

Thanks,
Pitxyoki

Could aMule Developments fixe bug with "»" characters?
I´ll hope that they´ll fixe it, so atm don´t remove "»" characters... (i love "»" character  )
but... if it was impossible to fixe... i´ll remove all "»" :flowers:

What I understand from the response from the developers is that they are parsing the first 10 characters of the file to determine if it is in fact a text file or something else that should not be considered an ipfilter. It's usual for many types of files to have a sequence of chars at the beginning that identifies the type of the file, so I guess they are just trying to use that to avoid parsing unwanted filetypes.

It must be possible, but I understand that changing the sourcecode of a program with some hacks so that they can parse a single file may not be as smart as simply replacing two characters in that file. All you have to do is only to remove the first two '»'s in the file. All others may stay there.
I could suggest using an '~>' if you want to keep a fancy beginning for the ipfilter. :)

Thanks for all the work and attention,
Pitxyoki

I understand you... but in a simple code,
The first line´s character begins with "#" it means that these´s a commentary, not a ipfilter´s real line.
not?
IMHO, If aMule "parsing the first 10 characters of the file to determine if it is in fact a text file or something else that should not be considered an ipfilter" must be the first real line, not first line (commentary in this case).
Simple bug, poor aMule solution.

BTW, in next ipfilter release, i´ll remplace
#»» 0 - (main title) • Ipfilter v.......
to
#>> 0 - (main title) • Ipfilter v........
;)

Thanks, R3Qu13M.
I see your point, but that just defeats the purpose of the code that checks the file's type.
I'm pretty sure that the code that reads the ip-ranges skips lines starting with '#'s (it made no sense and would't even work if it didn't).
What can't skip the first characters (whatever they are) is the code that checks the type of the file, which is encoded in the first bytes of the file. That kind of checking is used to verify if this is a text file, a binary (program) file, a JPEG image, or whatever - it makes no sense to skip anything, as we only want to read the first few bytes of the file.

I didn't read the source-code of aMule, but I believe the root of the problem is very likely to be related with charset encoding incompatibilities between whatever program you have that generates and saves that file and the library that aMule uses to parse the first bytes of that file.

In any event, just removing that character was the simplest (though, I agree, not the most correct) solution.

I'm sorry if I made it a bit too technical, and this problem shouldn't even deserve all of this attention, but I just wanted to make this clear.

Regards and keep up the good work! :)

Ufff, I've just tried the IPfilter.dat and fakes.dat from here and I'm confused.

Its been some time since I've been using NIPfilter.dat (filename ipfilter.dat) from Bluetack. NIPfilter.dat consists of:

  • Bad Peers list
  • Bogon
  • D-Shield
  • Hijacked
  • IANA Multicast
  • IANA Private
  • IANA Reserved
  • Level 1 [ Anti-P2P ]
  • level 2 [ Corp ]
  • Microsoft
  • Non Lan List

With
this list I have, from what I see in eMule:

* Total filtered IP's: 248829
* Total IP's: 2478492344

With the IPfilter.dat downloaded here I have:

*Total filtered IP's: 217091
*Total IP's: 2272574230

The NIPfilter.dat (from Bluetack) is made by me. I use Blocklist Manager to create it, so I always have it up to date.

Why the diference??
I thought the IPfilter.dat (from here) used NIPfilter.dat and then the members from here updated the list with the IP's you find bad (fake, etc.).

With NIPfilter.dat, I have 18 esevers to use these last days (havent had so many eservers in a lot of time).

With ipfilter.dat from here, I have 3 eservers  .

Another thing, Tusseries eserver (IP 91.121.151.121: 4661) is not beta any more. The server does not have the ofuscation feature, but you can connect to it, if you have activated the ofuscation in eMule. Bluetack has removed the IP already, but its filtered with the IPfilter.dat from here (from what I see).

And finally, what does fakes.dat do?

Thanks and awaiting and answer.

P.S.: Ok, I from what I've read fakes.dat is to eliminate bad files (malware, etc.). Does fakes.dat eliminate the bad files when you make a search?
