I'm a bit confused.

The other day I suddenly wasn't able to obtain a file search using "global servers" which I had always used before and instead had to use "Kad Network" but then while the files were in my transfer area, nothing was downloading. I also kept getting many LowID connects.

I followed the instructions in this thread and now I get search results using "Global Servers", but I don't have many servers in my server list at all. Just 6 that appear in the following link:

http://www.gruk.org/list.php

But the images in this tutorial show dozens of servers called Razorback, Byte Devils, Donkey Server.

How come I don't have those servers showing up in my list?

The tutorial is a bit old. At the moment a lot of servers seemed to have been shut down. Don't worry, so long as you can connect to KAD, all is well.

6 sounds about right at the moment. Although, I've noticed that I picked up the eDonkeyServers again :)

You can put the address into browser to see what is on the list at gruk.org:
http://www.gruk.org/list.php

Try this one as well:
http://www.peerates.net/servers.php

Thanks :)

I'm still a bit confused, lol

In emule I had done the update server list using http://www.gruk.org/list.php as in the tutorial.

Then I went to http://www.gruk.org/list.php and removed the servers shown in pink.

If I update the servers using http://www.peerates.net/servers.php I get servers that the gruk site told me to remove.

So should I be keeping the servers listed in pink at http://www.gruk.org/list.php ?

Pink ones are doubtfull for gruk. You can choose keep them like moloko+ said or delete them, like trebla said.

Cheers :D

Or you can set their priority to low, so that emule tries to connect to one of the other servers first.

Someone had previously said that there was a problem loading http://emulepawcio.s...et/ipfilter.zip

View Posttorpon, on Sep 20 2007, 12:29 PM, said:

You can download the file using your browser, unzip the file and copy the ipfilter.dat you obtain to config folder.

Cheers :D

Thing is, that zip file in the link contains one file, which is "guardian.p2p," not "ipfilter.dat." Any solutions? Where do I get an ipfilter.dat file?

Where did you get that gruk list is not updated?. You get same servers using your URL than gruk or peerates.
Promote this URL if you want but don't lie about others.

Cheers

Bad servers : 0
Invalid IP : 1

That is using the URL you provided from Peerates. As you can see, nothing wrong there :) Good servers is what Gruk and Peerates give us.

Not all the data is updated in real time.

At the time of my posting I saw at peerates.net page: Servers 11

Cheers :D

I've seen them, but when tried to make a new topic it said that I didn't have permission to start a new topic

Thank you
