For once I'm in favour of a quick update. Improving the captcha system seems to be necessary considering how much spam we've been seeing recently.

As far as i saw: The recent spam attacks (from the last two days) were not directly related to the weak captcha image, but due to IPB fucking up the randomization of the captacha content so that spam bots could solve it without actually cracking the image. They "improved" this with the new version - the fix has been already applied to this board yesterday. They also added some new fonts and background images for the current captcha, which have been taken over too. If needed some additional protection could be added, but we will see if there is really demand for this (i might recheck the current captacha at some point too, it seems pretty hard to read sometimes even for humans).
I don't like the idea of using third party services in the registration procedure as this always adds some security risk and privacy concerns, even if recaptcha is well known.

I checked it today, and as far as i can see the 4 languages we have on the board are not yet available as language packs. It is probably better to wait for them before updating.
