But then again, there are dead ends and then there are dead ends. It must take an altogether different kind of disorder to start something from zero after it's been made quite clear that it won't happen.

As I am a moderator on other boards you maybe wouldn't believe how many apparently mentally disordered internet junkies I have to deal with. This one would be one of the harder cases but not that extraordinary.

Thus it's reasonable to believe that simply some ideas pop up out of the blue every now and then and they need to be shot down as they do.

Maybe... But if you look at how he writes, his wording, grammar, etc. (it's eg. likely his native language also is german) and he also want's to put a java app into eMule that means big bloat but doesn't have too much relevance for eMule itself on the other hand. Quite suspicious...

about this bloat-browser.
Why oh why install another browser? Every pc has at least one browser ready to use.

People use what is easy
I.E. eMule have an irc client, but I really like and use mirc.

And most of all, why asking an amule feature request into eMule feature request thread?

It took me an hour to implement a web browser.

thanks, can you release that mod? and integrate into the emule mod installer the isntall packages of www.yacy.net ? so that it is a subdir of emule install-dir? maybe a java check has to be done. then add the default url localhost:xxxx to the browser, so that there is the admin page in the browser of yacy. The tab could be called "yacy", not "browser". then we have a google p2p. (yacy should run in DHT modus (low latency moduy) only. so that there is no indexing of websites, but getting and transferring websites from other nodes. Then there is not a lot of bandwith or cpu need.) soon we will have thousands of nodes and google is history. a Future request could be, that search results are shown in the search tab, not in th yac.tab you made, so that you tab is really for admin puposes only. If we should ever reach that stage of these fifth isssue, then the browser admin tab could appear into the settings tab as a sub. But adding the yacy installer into the emule installer now is just fine. thanks a lot.

Hi, Faroo.com - a similar p2p websearch machine (not open source), which aims to let p2p users participate in the central ads - launched today as well the beta for invited people. The idea is quite good to reach google standard: google´s 100.000 machines are done with p2p, and users get 50 % of the central server ads of the gui for revenue. Well .. closed source as said. If someone is interested in the installer to test, send me a PM. So it is time to support an open source enginge.

Lets give this a final answer: No, there won't be a webbrowser in eMule. Reasons already mentioned here. Most programms which implement webbrowser do so only to show paid content (related websites, ads, etc), be happy that eMule doesn't wants to do this :)
