Hi guys,

I have been thinking this for a long time, since I started to use eMule 3 years ago:

Let's add a Simplified Chinese version to the eMule's official site, including all Chinese interface for downloading and help information.

So the users in Mainland China won't be misled by some ill mods, and the servers will be freed. ;)

I know we already have Traditional Chinese version here, but they are based on different encoding standard, the users in Mainland China cannot see the Traditional Chinese characters.

You think?

Thanks.

I think it's so much a problem of if the devs would like to add something like that but more of a question of who does it. If nobody does the translation work then there will never be a simplified chinese version.
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

If the devs would like to put that on the site, pennyliu123 and I can do the translation work.

We have well-translated mod of eMule. So why not regard the VeryCD's mod as the offical s-chinese version? VeryCD's the biggest ed2k communtiy in China.

So will you give me some hints? Which part to translate first? The download page?
Also please tell me how were other versions translated.
It could be valuable reference for the Simplified Chinese version.

Hi. :)

There have been very few updates to the homepage and the translations for a long while. The templates should be rather up to date I assume but there might be some small corrections. Below is the general templates and the translated templates for the traditional chinese translation. Please have a look at those threads and download the templates. :)

Hey birk,

I have downloaded the english template zip file and am translating the download page. ;)

It's pretty easy huh? Just translate the strings.

Maybe we can start a thread as "Simplified Chinese" in the homepage category and upload the latest Simplified Chinese template files. It could be a translation relay race.

Is the emule 0.47c usable for chinese people ? Is the emule-project.net readeable by chinese people ?

I am asking because I notice chinese are mostly using a shareaza like program, buggy as hell, faking itself as emule 0.47a.

I am really considering blocking all chinese connections to big servers, unless they come from true emule 0.46c (obfuscated only).

Chinese are now the biggest country in the emule network. Far far before all other country. If we let a shareaza buggy program be the standard client, I fear servers will collapse.

Interesting point and I aggree with you wholeheartedly. You would know how to screen the clients, but can you also tell where the majority of LowID's are orginating from? hate to see screening, but even my log shows too many VeryCD rejections. and perhaps an Obf. connection will soon be the only one to allow on many clients.

well, lowid are evenly distributed, regardless of version of emule.

Of course chinese have a lot of NAT so are more LOWID than spanish...

I think the problem is emule 0.47c is somehow 'unreachable' for some of the vagaa users. They might never heard about emule-project.net, regardless they could read the name or not. Easy to understand why they are not using it. That's why this homepage is urgently needed.

The official emule needs to gain more publicity in China.
