If you have any feature requests or requests for various changes please write on this thread. Maybe your request is something I want to work on. :)

Version 0.2 (Released 05. December 2006 at 11:19:31)
Well it was a long way coming but finally got here. This release is mainly new features and some bugfixes aswell. Main new features and fixes are as follows:
  • The messagecentre have been completely rewritten for a more intuitive layout and functionality
  • There is now a possibility for doing more advanced searches. You can control both the direction for sorting and also by which information you want to sort. The choice for search option is stored on a session basis
  • Each ed2k download link now has a Posted Image graphic next to it that links to server stats for that particular file
  • The page title for each release and the also for the category page now includes the name of the release of the category
  • The 'releases since last visit' should actually work proporly now
  • Added RSS feed tutorials for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera
There are most likely a lot more but I don't have access to my changelog right now. If you have any comments or find that something is not working proporly please let me know. Code is checked in both Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 7.0.

Version 0.1 (Released 10. August 2006 at 12:03:24)
After working on the Content DataBase code for roughly 1 month the main site have now been updated with all the changes, fixes and new features I have made. There have been many security related updates which Some Support took care of before handing me the code. Well here are some of the main changes, fixes and features:
  • Names should in most places be replaced by a link to the user profile page
  • The message center have been updated quite alot. It is now possible to delete (read: hide) messages permanently
  • New nice looking registration page
  • Many changes for releasers, moderators and administrators (including automatically bumping and verifying of releases)
  • The 'remember me' login function should be working now
  • New page with both the Content DataBase rules and terms of use
  • Now possible to search in single categories
  • Added 6 RSS feeds
There are still many things to do but this initial releases takes care of many things and was really needed. Thanks to Some Support for putting it up so fast. With the next version many browsers should be able to detect the RSS feeds themselves too. If there are any questions about the Content DataBase or some code not working please post your concerns here.

I can assure you all that things are going great. I have done a lot of things by now. Many fixes and updates. Will start working on a RSS feed soon but can only promise it as a test until I know how much stress it puts on the server. There are updates for users, releasers, mods and admins. :bounce:

Well, I guess it's just broken but the drop down near the search box give only the "All Categories" option...

How about some sort options. Sorting releases by name, date, release date etc.

Not completely sure I follow what you want. Where on the site do you want these options and in what way? Please describe it carefully so that I can understand what it is you want. :)

For example, if I browse the software category I get a list of all the releases made in this category sorted alphabetically, I want an option to sort them by date or popularity or rating.

Oki, now I understand. I'll try and look into it but no promisses on this one since the search is quite complicated already but I'll give it a try. :)

I noticed that when I submitted a release and I forgot to add the link I had no option to correct it, I had to start a new release form and re-enter all the info. There should be a back button to correct the release without loosing all the info.

Or, even easier, add a pre-check to see whether the user made all needed settings :+1:

I forget right now and don't want to start up the server and database but I am pretty sure that I made a more input checks when making new releases. It should throw and error when the links box doesn't send 'ed2k://' with the $_POST variable. If I am wrong I'll surely make sure I check for it. :)

@ niRRity
Just thought a bit about the feature you talked about. The way the database is structured makes it impossible or atleast not feasiable to sort by rating. It should however be possible to sort alphabetically, by edit date, by number of downloads. Any other things of interest to sort by? Will however not promise it will be this version I'll put it in since I am eager to get the code updated soon. Just need a bit more fine tuning and then I can leave some stuff for the next version. :)

For those interested I have working RSS feeds on my local version of the content DB. I just hope that it will not strain the server to much when we test fire them. There are for each single category and one for all categories. :flowers:

I've noticed that the ratings are always showing what the last user put in. There's no average or anything. I think this could be problematic because 20 users could give a rating of 5 and one user afterwards gives it a rating of one. The 1 star rating will show and make it look like all 21 users rated it as a 1 even though that's not the case. I'm not sure how one would resolve this type of thing, but it's a thought.

I have added it to my list to see if I can fix it. :)

I finally thought of a way that this could be fixed. Add a number for each star that denotes how many users voted for each rating. :)

Well I just once tried to submit a rating. It didn't show up when I reloaded the page. Are you sure of this problem or can you describe it in more detail? :)

The typo is corrected locally with me now and will be gone with next update. ;)

Have not forgotten you PM. Reply will follow... :-k

Well, on my own release (Free Music), the average says 3 stars, so I logged in and rated it 5 stars and immedietly, the average went to 5 stars. I refreshed the page and it still says 5 stars.

Edit: Can't wait for your response though :D

This is strange. Just voted aswell with 5 stars and that didn't change the rating at all. When I start up my local version next time I'll check if there is a difference between which user level one has when submitting this form. :S

I am however thinking about rewritting the messagecenter to have it work without the javascript popups. I have always disliked those but I don't know if people actually use the message system enough to warrant such a rewrite since it will take some time. Also thinking about removing the 'new releases since last visit' feature to save 1 mySQL query per page load. :punk:
