Hi everyone

Some people come here, asking about an way to open/close emule, at a specified time. (spanish forum too)
This tutorial it's for help them. at least that is the intention.
I have proven it, and it works.

Subject : open/close emule at a specified time (windows scheduler).
Open emule, (we'll use windows scheduler).
How to

Step 1

Step 2
The first step asks you to pick the program to run. You can select from the list, or click "Browse..." to select another program. You can actually pick pretty much any file (not just programs) to run. For example, if you want a particular Word document to open itself or if you want a specific mp3 to play at a certain time, find that file (through the "Browse..." window) and select it.(in this case, emule.exe)

Step 3
After clicking "Next >", you'll have options of naming the task and choosing how often it will run. Choose these options and continue

Step 4
The wizard will then ask you to enter a starting time and date.

Step 5
The next step asks for your logon information (if you normally type in a user name and password to log in to your computer).

Step 6
Once you successfully configure your task, you will be given the option to open the Advanced Properties. It's probably a good idea to take a look around the advanced properties in case there are any other options you man want to change. Be sure to look under all the tabs at the top. Most everything is pretty self-explanatory here.

in this point, it is very important :
autoconnect on startup (options>connection).
StaticServerlist, priority (go to servers tab, righclick over any server>Add to static list)

AutoConnect to servers in static list only (options>Server)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Close emule, How to.

Open notepad for make batch file, and type: (or copy&paste)

C: emule disconnect
C: emule exit

Save into, Emule folder (Not Incoming, Not Config etc.)
use, Save as
Name= EmuleExit.bat
Type= all files.

in this point, it is very important :
Untick, Prompt on exit. (Options>General)
Open windows scheduler, repeat step 1/6 with EmuleExit.bat file, the single change is:

Of course we can add more Command Line Switches, such as limits = up, down, etc.

You can now view scheduled task under Scheduled Tasks folder. This will make Windows to automatically perform each task at the scheduled time.

PD: My gratefulness to the users and their contributions in this Thread, that helped to me to clarify some doubts on this matter.
suggestions, corrections, grammar etc are accepted. Posted Image

Note: First disconnect, before close emule, it's in order to avoid corruption files. (Temp files, kad files etc.)

Unfortunately, since 0.47c, eMule has become impervious to automated attempts to close it down

Are there any other suggestions?

**Update 21 Dec 06**

It's thought this issue is known and will probably be fixed at the next release. In the mean time, a work around is described in Development>Bug Reports>"Emule 0.47c "unstoppable"". Link:
