Dass 64 Bit die 32 Bit ablösen wird ist aber nicht wirklich entkräftbar.
Meist sind es die "Argumente" die gegen Nutzung des Neuen sprechen die etwas "seltsam" sind.

Was ist daran seltsam?
Welche Vorteile bringt es auf einem System mit 64 Bit Register stur weiter 32 Bit zu nutzen und die zu langen Register mit Müll anzufüllen?
(Nix anders macht der AMD64 Befehlssatz wenn man nur 32 Bit verwendet.
Aber denkt doch mal nach seit wann es 32 Bit Prozessoren von Intel gab, ich meine da die IA32 Platform.
Die gab es seit dem 80386 und selbst bei W95 will man nicht von einem echten 32 Bit Os sprechen, erst mit NT basierten OS war das der Fall.
Wie lange wurde mit 16 Bit "OS" rumgespielt?
Der PC Nutzer ist halt meist extrem beharrlich und stur.

Genau so ist es mit IPv6.
Es ist da, alle OS (ja, sogar MS hat das inzwischen brauchbar implementiert) können es.
Nur die Provider sagen sich "wozu, nutzt doch keiner", die Programmierer sagen "kann doch kein Programm" und alle sagen "braucht doch keiner".

Bin mal gespannt wann wir das thema wieder ausgraben werden, dauert ja nicht mehr lange bis die IPv4 Adressen wirklich knapp werden.
Oder wird dann sowas wie NAT2 erfunden?

Tja, eben - also sollte man doch bei 32 Bit bleiben, so lange noch kaum Anwendungsgebiete für die zusätzlichen Register existieren.

Der Hersteller der App sagt sich aber "Hat doch eh jeder noch 32 Bit, wozu soll ich das für 64 Bit bauen".
Fällt dir was auf?

Und wegen der Register, es gibt genug Sachen wo lange Register nützlich sind, teilweise kann man auch mehrere Daten reinpacken, kommt halt drauf an wie gut der Compiler ist.

Schlechtes Beispiel.
Die meisten meienr Lieblings Apps sind Oss, die werden fast alle für die gängigen Plattformen vorkompiliert angeboten.
Die einzige Ausnahme ist der Hamster, der ist stark auf Windows zugeschnitten und in Delphi geschreiben.
Der läuft bei mir als Windows 32 Bit App in wine.
Sonst finde ich hier nicht viel.
Liegt wohl daran dass ich schon ewig keine Spiele mehr gekauft habe.

Und ich kann auch 32 Bit Apps laufen lassen, das ist ja gerade der Clou am AMd64, es gibt die Möglichkeit in einem 64 Bit OS einzelnen Prozessen nur die 32 Bit REgister vorzugaukeln, die merken da garnix dass es mehr gibt.
Es gibt den Compatibility Mode den das OS natürlich nutzen können muss aber ich gehen mal davon aus dass Windows 7 das kann, wenn nicht schon Vista.
Und alles was man direkt für 64 Bit bekommt verwendet man auch so.

Klar, du kannst auf einem 64-bit-Prozessor alle Anwendungen im 32-bit-Modus betreiben. Und?

Wozu?
Warum sollte ich dann Sachen im reinen 32 Bit Modus betreiben wenn ich dafür auch den 64 Bit Modus verwenden kann?
Der Prozessor kann es und deshalb sollte man es verwenden.

Ich frage mich langsam warum die Hersteller überhaupt AMD64 unterstützen wenn doch viele Anwender "WISSEN" dass das keine Vorteile bringt.

Gehts überhaupt noch um emule :confused:
Was soll man mit 64 Bit Architektur auf ein 32 Bit Rechner anfangen ?
Mal so sag das emule was fürs Private ist und nicht für Komerzielle < (wo Geld da keine rolle spielt) :-k
Schreib eMule dafür um @ Schuttwegraeumer, wenns dir so doll dann gefällt.
ging doch ums neue "ipv6" ? oder geht die Diskussion als Offtopic so weiter nun :confused:

Eigentlich wird die 64 Bit Architektur, und ich mein auch IPv6, in eMule Mods schon eingearbeitet. Somit hat jeder auch jetzt schon die Möglichkeit, im kleinerem Rahmen seine Erfahrungen beizutragen.
