Not really a fix, more like workaround. Most likely taken from here, anyway.
Anyway, since it might not be bad per se, I think these guys make some pretty good arguments why one should carefully consider to use this hack. Most prominently the need for updates whenever VS10 is being updated. It might prove beneficial to actually write something that prevents the code in question from being compiled and linked in the first place. One that goes about doing this without having to actually modify the MFC source files.
