Wiz, you got my attention now It was about freakin time someone made KAD only client. I've been using stock eMule with KAD only for years. Will check it out right now

Wiz, i just have few recommendations. You made it with idea of being simple to use, i'd take that a notch further, but not too far...

- Main menu split panel
Disable it by default and set it to "Downloads" as default menu, most users don't really care what they share, they just care what they download.
So, client will still upload stuff on its own but you just won't see it. You can still set it to split and any other
And also remove the sidebar toolbar with controls (as default). It'll make it look less cluttered and i find right clicking individual downloads is much more comfortable than using side controls.

- "Download" button in Search panel is a bit broken (darker frame around it)

- Remove "Messages" function all together... does anyone even use it? At least i don't know anyone that would ever use it...

- Set progress bar style to a more "flat" style by default. The last two round levels are weird because they have too much black on top and bottom

- Add ability to disable sorting based on "Invalid/Fake/Corrupt". I prefer to sort it based on Availability and it sorts them all messed up at the moment and doesn't entirely obey the Availability column...

- I'd also re-arrange the main buttons like this (for default out of the box setting):
Statistics | Search, Downloads, Shared, Messages | Options, Tools, Help

It would look much better this way.

- Add ability to disable verbose status reporting in the bottom left corner where kMule displays various messages. I get a lot of useless data there that just clutters up the interface and i don't realyl care about that info.

- Add ability to automatically hide "FAKE" files from search results list. So you don't even have to check what the status of the file is, they won't even appear at all.

I don't know... maybe as a pref option - maybe! - the spam sorting is pretty accurate.

Yeah, some are maybe my personal taste and the past experience with interface designs in general. Main eMule problem is that it's just too fiddly out of the box and thats what turns off many new users. Thats why your kMule has a good start, because it's pretty basic by design and does most of the complicated stuff automatically (nodes download, IP filters download, upload auto sensing, auto connects to the KAD etc). First run wizard may scare off some users but in general it's pretty straight forward. If it's basic out of the box but still allows advanced users to enable advanced stuff later, it's all good. the other way around is usually more problematic.

I'd also replace current KAD status icon in the bottom right corner with a plain green, yellow and red orb, like the ones found in Daan-Kad1 skin. It's more obvious without any hunting for the arrows color and it just looks better.

GREEN = KAD Connected
YELLOW = KAD Firewalled
RED = KAD Disconnected

Well, I do think Statistics a important interface to know your U/D information in current session and also your network streaming or chokes.
In personnal, the most frequently used buttons are:
"Kad, Server"(These two removed), Shared, Statistics, Downloads, Search.
