Hi, I don't know anything in C++ code but I would like to know how to compile sources to have the .EXE
Why ? e.g. I download Maella's mod sources and I copy/paste "patches" in developments topic in the sources directory but I don't know how to compile these.

Thanks. B)

Wow, newbie supreme. You need Microsoft Visual C++ .Net installed, then you open eMule.sln and hit F7 to compile(or alternately, you can go through the menus and actually find the command). You can also select if you want to compile a debug version or a release version, but I don't know the shortcut to that so just look in the menu for select build something or something like that. The difference is that debug makes a larger exe, but when it crashes it gives you more information on where it crashed(in the code), and you can use it to trace through the code if you know how to. But since you're newbie supreme, I'd suggest just compiling release, not much of a chance of you debugging anything.

Strongly suggest you to learn a little bit of C (or c++), at least to know why the code will be in such position. It is not very difficult to read it. Otherwise, don't try to compile yourself, as you may change something wrong in the code, and it still can be compile, finally you get a bad emule, the worse is making wrong data download for you.

1) read the forum rules. Don't post copyrighted materiel here.

2) Visual c++ 6.0 is not compatible with the eMule source so you may just as well cancel that dl if you are only downloading it to compile eMule.

Since he's talking about the development environment to use I wouldn't exactly call it posting copyrighted material. However, using the term "downloading it", that I would recommend against, especially since it's an MS product, and MS are famous for going to court  .
