Iīm behind a firewall and I canīt forward the ports, so I disabled the eMule UDP Port in the preferences. I get some sources with my downloads, but kad doesnīt run. When I select "bootstrap from running emules" and press bootstrap nothing happens. There are also no entries at all in the kad window. I heard kad works with a lowid so I donīt know whatīs wrong here.

I read that I should disable the UDP port if I canīt forward it trough the NAT (so Iīve a LowID). But then I read about "kad support for lowids". Thatīs not logical, is it? If all lowid-users have their UDP-port disabled and if you canīt have kad without the udp-port, how is kad support for lowid clients possible?

you get a "buddy"
(and the buddy is someone with a open (highID) KAD.

i don't know how that works though (at all) .
(should be in the docs :+1: )

1) You won't get a Buddy with your UDP port closed. That means you don't want to be on Kad.

2) Correct, That is not logical. You illogically concluded that all lowID users have the same connection type as you, so followed the same advice as you, and therefore disabled UDP port. "Kad support for low IDs" refers to a person who IS trying to connect to the Kad network (who therefore won't disable their UDP port) but who is not getting a good connection (no Open connection status on Kad, nothing to do with ed2k). If you were in this situation, you might be fortunate enough to notice that eMule automatically organized a "buddy" for you. The buddy probably didn't even notice.
