- Select Kad and ed2k server in the connection options.
- Make sure that UDP port is enabled in the connection options. (default)
- Forwarding the UDP port gives better results in the next steps, but is not absolutely required.
- Connect to a server. Make sure they are valid
- Download a file, maybe eMule itself to find some kad nodes.
- Kad will be connected now.
This might look complicated, but connecting and downloading is something basic in eMule.
If UDP ports are blocked for some reason, this will fail. Not that entering a proxy was not effective for udp traffic.
When kad is stopped or disconnected, a good nodes.dat is made persistent in the config dir.
