That's what I meant...

My own fault 'cause I always updated only the exe...
Just this time I took all the stuff.
Good thing is I always keep some more or less good backups.

Well, I don't know it it was this file that caused the crash, but since I took it out of share, there was no crash...

Interesting. I've hardened that code and limited the assessment attempts to 3 (3 restarts), I am testing it now....

it doesn't perform a compressibility evalutation on new completed files automatically... is it normal?

i mean... after a new file is completed, if i hit "reload" in "shared files" it performs a new rehashing of the new file...

but i thought that files downloaded with TK4 had their compressibility evalutation done automatically during hashing; instead, if i hit reload just after a file has been completed and hashed, it performs a rehashing of the file

Not during hashing, no way would I mess with the hashing code! But after hashing in
CreateFromFile.
I don't download that much (Cumulative UL:DL Ratio: 8.93 : 1) but I have download a decent range of files and all seems to work well...

When exactly did you hit reload? How big was the file?

Maybe hashing has completed but the compression evaluation has not...? And before it sets the compression value Reload causes it to be reassessed!
The vunerablility should not be present for more than a few seconds after hashing completes,(I just tried on a small file and could not get it to happen..)

I will check the relevent code and add a bit of code to prevent that if that is what's happening!

this is what i saw:

1) complete download+hashing for 6 pretty small files
2) some hours later i tried hitting reload
3) eMule started hashing those 6 files (reporting it in the log too btw)

be retried till the next session... Unless it was not carried out because hashing failed for some reason....

Did they re-hash again after that if you hit reload?? ?? :confused:
