i doubt majority of users have more then default category..

I thought the same. Then I started using categories, now I don't ever want to get rid of them.

just to add... i have so many categories that buttons like FQ NN TM UN where covered..

now i removed some unused categories ;)

one other question (and sorry to bother) : i dont' need to hit those button (FQ NN...) is Beba that periodically removed the full queue, the No needed sources... right ?

thanks again!

Whew, didn't see a screen like that.
In fact there are two easy ways and one not-so-easy way to get around it:
  • easy 1: Don't use so many categories :P
(I wonder if a huge number of categories doesn't make them obsolete as they actually should help the user keeping an overview of his downloads...)
  • easy 2: Increase your screen's resolution
  • not so easy: I'll place the buttons elsewhere. But where?

beba doesn't have an auto-dropping system. Even the manual dropping buttons are a compromise.
The reason is simple: Dropping sources sucks at all.

FQ sources can change their status very quickly.
NN sources too, and also the others.

So if you drop any source, you'll probably need to search for it again. That's rather stupid.
The Drop buttons are implemented to enable the user to clean his queue if his Hard Limit is almost reached; but I don't recommend using them.

reduced to 11, actually used 5

easy 2: Increase your screen's resolution

it's already 1280x1024 (lcd 19'') :)

make it easy... it's good as is now

i like the drop source fuction of some mods, expecially the full queue and the no needed part
activating on 1 hour periodically could bring a smaller but more performace list of users (or not... i haven't an "uber" knowledge!)

thanks!

The short-time performance increasement is countervailed by the extra time needed to find the dropped sources again once they change their status...

Just a remark concerning default official emule behaviour.

If you select the right button in search windows , then the download goes to the right categories.

your mod is good as is

i can suggest something .. but i don't wnat beba will become another "morph/extreme"

the download/upload value at top right , in graph mode (as last stullemule 5.1)
save queue wait time
share only the needed
safe kad ? (don't know if already present)
improved leecher detection (very good already)

maybe these...

i wait your next build!

BHH

P.S. if you need a "beba" tester ... pm me!
i am not a releaser but i am online 24/7/365 (near...)

One word to everyone here:
The next week I'll be in Italy, enjoying the sun, so the 1.42 release will delay a bit...

I wouldn't even allow it.

A speed bar? Why? There are already so many places showing the current values...

It is planned, maybe even for this release, but I hesitate implementing it because it would be some major change, completely changing eMule's credit management... (I can't even see a deeper sense, as eMule should run 24/7 however. But if you want to, I'll have some review after my holidays. Just tell me.)

What does it actually do?

View Postbuzzqw, on Aug 9 2007, 08:27 PM, said:

I won't add any beta code. However, checking the NetF WARP mod when it's final (!) is one item on my todo list.

Improved in which way?

View Postbuzzqw, on Aug 9 2007, 08:27 PM, said:

Everyone can be a tester. Just download my builds and test them.
If you want to be a beta tester, you'll need to register on beba's support board and send me some PM there, as beta releases are only available there and on DDoS (where I, however, rather seldomly have a look).

edit:
1) SUQWT, another request? OK ... so the 1.42 release will have another delay. :P (f*ck, last night I actually compiled the "final" version.)
2) I dislike the Scheduler. I can't see any deeper sense in it. Shutdown after downloads complete? That would mean that uploads are stopped immediately after finishing the file. I'd call it even harmful.

well in the mods that I've tested I've never seen 'Shutdown after downloads complete' (must be good mods i use :angelnot: )
but yeah, tbh, if i couldn't use Scheduler i couldn't really use emule. I need to limit my upload and download at certain times because of my ISP restriction. I feel always keeping your upload at 10 is wrong (especially if you can give soo much more).

Oh yeah... 'twas quite late. I mixed up the offc. scheduler with another one (which is able to perform exactly this action).
I don't care anyway:

I don't think the scheduler is thought as a possibility to cancel an ISP's restrictions at long sight. And I can't see another reason for automatically adjusting your speed limits by time; if you need some bandwidth, adjust it manually.

You can always find a purpose for <enter any eMule feature here>, even for "color your friends blue" or Stulle's <edit> easter egg </edit>. But, as I told you, I just don't care.

I really like a mod which is not overloaded with features but has only the basic features needed for filesharing.
What about adding the nat-traversal (http://forum.emule-project.net/index.php?showtopic=126369) to the client?
Would be a very great addition IMHO :D

<_<

Well, I never needed NATT for filesharing. And I guess, there are even more ppl out there which do the same.
I'm not all sure if there's such a big need for it...

(Also NATT is still not in a final state, so it's not even worth a glance yet. I know the old version, though.)

What about a very useful feature like a pretty (maybe naked) girl on the splashscreen? :)
You could even chose a different one for each version.
