- released March 23, 2013 -

This is the start of a new era. As a result of a recently published poll, beba's slogan "feel the lightweight!" was finally confirmed by its audience. I took this as a reason to do some (more and maybe better) work on the logo image. Sorry for my ongoing lack of GFX skills.

In other news: Another project I have been working on (kMule) has let me notice that beba actually lacks something that filters spam results from the search window, so I added WiZaRd's enhanced FakeAlyzer system (originally by NetFinity). A couple of tweaks have been made so beba can finally be (and is) compiled with Visual Studio 2010 now. Also I randomly changed something and stuff. Major hugs to WiZaRd for patiently standing my thick-wittedness.

See the official beba website for a complete feature list.
Here's the changelog indeed:

v2.70:

- added: additional fake check from the search list [WiZaRd/NetFinity]
- added: NeoLoader detection [David Xanatos]

- improved: added recognition of Ogg Theora (.ogv) and TAK (.tak) media files [Tuxman]
- improved: added recognition of some WordPerfect Office document files [Tuxman]
- improved: fixed unfair treatment of clients requesting more than 1 file [eklmn/WiZaRd]
- improved: improved Visual Studio 2010 compatibility [Tuxman/WiZaRd]
- improved: prevent failed UL sessions due to deleted/missing shared files [WiZaRd]
- improved: removed some debug-related functions in release builds [YumeYao]

- fix (o): a double click on the USS status bar item opened the messages window instead of the Tweaks prefs page [Eulero]

- changed: finally fixed the URL in the logo image and did some decent redesign [Tuxman]
- changed: improved the Slot Focus upload list context menu item (clearer display of "enabled"/"disabled") [Tuxman]
- changed: randomly changed something and stuff [Tuxman]
- changed: removed the Slot Focus prefs item (redundant) [Tuxman]
- changed: removed the option to disable Windows 7+ taskbar integration [Tuxman]
- changed: Winsock2 support can not be disabled anymore (removed checkbox) [Tuxman]
  * fallback to Winsock1 has been the default behavior anyway

- removed: support for low color desktops [WiZaRd]
  * people using VS2010-binary compatible systems should not have them anymore. :-)

- updated: Crypto++ v5.6.2 [Tuxman]
- updated: libpng v1.6.0 [Tuxman/WiZaRd]
- updated: miniupnplib v1.8 [Tuxman]
  * including fallback mode for Windows XP [WiZaRd]

(if I forgot any credits, I'm sorry for a thousand times. Really!)

By the way: I'm still not going to implement any releasers' features! beba is - and was always intended to be - a "back to the roots" eD2K/Kad client for everyone who uses eMule to download files (what else should it be used for?), giving a f*** on any spread bar, Powershare stuff or GFX toys. You know, I still can't see the point in coloring my friends blue or whatever the newest click-click-colorful feature is...
Those who look for a releaser's eMule modification with lots of bells and whistles should have a look at ZZUL-based mods. You see, there are way too many all-round and releasers' mods out there, so why should I do the same? (-;

Please note anyway that I'm really interested in bug reports and feature requests (at least those matching my "rules", see above). If you have any, feel free to send me some message.

You don't like it? Don't use it!
However, running around on other boards and telling them that you have "never seen such a stupid buggy newbie mod before haha lol" ain't very helpful to me. (-;

If you completely dislike the "disconnected" tray icon and would prefer to see this one Posted Image in the next version of beba, please leave some note in this thread or via PM!

Thanks to my testers for some important bug reports; you are the best ones! (-;

Thanks Tuxman, testing here. :+1: It seems that there is a problem with the score computation. This is the top of my queue after 15 min (official CS):

Thanks Tuxman, really great work!

There is only one thing making me nervous:
It seems to keep reloading the shared files permanently.

In log it says:
"Detected change on shared dirs, reloading shared files in xxx seconds..."

That is going on all the time from 5 to 320 seconds.

Is there something wrong, or am I wrong?

Piff

Try unchecking the "Reload shared files automatically" option. :P

-edit-
At least the reloading only happens when something changes in your shares.
Nevertheless, I've just added a Verbose option for it, will be included in v0.3, whenever it will happen.
Thanks!
