For what it's worth, I turned off Kad and the crashes that were causing the above problem stopped. I still don't know what caused the debug dump query to act so wierd, though.

I am having a problem with eMule crashing as soon as its icon is clicked. I get BSOD'd and reboot. Is this the correct forum to get help on this issue please? Version=0.49c, numerous downloads and reinstalls, problem persists every time - eMule never gets started.

eMule is user level application, therefore it should not cause BSOD. Most probably your's is a driver-related issue - network, video etc.
To be able to read the blue screen data, you can turn off automatic reboot in Control Panel>System>Advanced>Startup and Recovery.

1st time I am having problems with eMule, and I've been using it for years...

I leave eMule open while I'm not working on the computer. For some reason in the past week or so, whenever I come back to the computer and try to use eMule, it doesn't respond. It's just stuck.
Even when I End the Process it just stays there doing nothing.

Only thing I can do to resolve this is to restart my comp, and usually I need to press the Reset button for that, since eMule doesn't close while it's restarting.

The only thing I can think of that changed, is that I updated my version of AVG from 8 to 9 (9.0791), but that's it.
Using XP SP3, Sygate Firewall Pro 5.5, eMule 0.49c (downloaded from your site)

I did the suggestion in the 1st post, regarding the Dump, but have no idea where to get that file it creates - no window pops-up.

Any ideas?
If you need more info, please let me know. Also if you think I need to open a new thread for this.

eMule crashed and creating dump has also failed


On the next run I got error, that credit file is corrupted.

OS is Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprice Edition SP2.

I don't know, is it MorphXT mod bug, or it is obtained from official eMule.
I can only say, that (official) eMule 0.49c has never crashed on this PC.

THAT is total nonsense! Please refrain from posting such "suggestions" here!
SS already answered that dumps of mods have to be sent to the mod authors as they are useless for the original programmer(s).

since today, emule can't start. Windows just says emule has crashed. I reinstall the mule on different disk but there is the same problem. No dump informations, except by windows:
"Nom d’événement de problème: APPCRASH"

where is the preferences.ini is located, i dont see it in the emule folder and cant find it in my computer.

The easiest way would be to use the "edit preferences.ini" button within eMules' "Tweaks" page in the options.

Same as on Vista.

On my computer it is in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\eMule\config\. But it may depend on the way you configured eMule on install.

Why cann't you open eMule?
